Historic Hideaway and Gardens 2
Description
Outside, the Barwick-Dudley house is a beautiful Painted Lady. Inside, she's a funky Victorian filled with paintings, books, and a baby grand. Eileen is Mayor emerita of Twin City and an accomplished artist; David is author, musician, gardener, and retired literature professor. The house is large and rambling with plenty of comfy places to sit and visit, and it has a beautiful back yard to explore with gardens, fire pit, and a tree house. The space The Blue room is bright and gracious, the first room at the top of the staircase. In addition to the queen bed, there is a large, cushioned window seat that can be used as a single bed for young person or petite adult. The room also has a DVD player, and an assortment of DVDs to enjoy. Guest are welcome to relax in the living room and may even get treated to Dave's piano virtuosity, and the back porch is great for morning coffee or as a place to visit in the evening. Coffee and tea are available every morning as well as Continental-style breakfast snacks. Kitchen is not available for major cooking. During your stay This is Eileen and David's home so you can expect your hosts to be on location to welcome you and assist in any way possible. We are happy to open our home and expect guests to treat it with respect. We enjoy sharing a cup of coffee or glass of wine and getting to know our guests. We have great porches for just that, as well as for viewing the birds that flock to the feeders.
