Spacious 8-10 person House in Brooktondale
Spacious 8-10 person House in Brooktondale
Description
We live in a charming farm house that’s been renovated and updated slowly over the course of decades - each room has its own character! There are tons of windows that let in the natural light, a closed in porch, an open porch, and a back patio on one acre of private land surrounded on all sides by trees. The landscaping is beautiful and the backyard is quite spacious. My husband Sam, and I live here with our six-year-old daughter, our four-year old son, and our cats, Jack and Furrikans. The space For lack of a better phrase, our home is “lived in.” We haven’t prioritized interior decoration and have kids toys all around, but I think you’ll love it anyway! There are three bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs. Our master bedroom has a king-sized bed, our daughter’s room has a queen-sized bed, and the guest room has a queen-sized bed. The entrance to our daughter’s bedroom is inside the master bedroom because it used to be an attic space so the guests in the master bedroom and our daughter’s bedroom won’t have much privacy from each other. There is a non-latching, non-locking door between these rooms, but it doesn’t provide that much privacy. The ceilings in the nursery are also low (a little more than 6 feet tall in the middle) so the nursery is probably best for kids. The upstairs guest room is down the hall, and spacious. It has a queen-sized bed, a futon, and a non-locking door. There is one bedroom and a full bathroom downstairs. There are also two large living spaces, a dining room, a laundry room, and a kitchen. The guest room downstairs has a queen-sized bed. One of the living spaces has a TV. We don’t have cable, but have an Apple TV, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, and high-speed internet so you can watch things that are streamed with no problems. The kitchen has modern appliances, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a toaster. The dining room table can seat up to 8 people after putting in the extra leaves. The yard is flat and beautiful and completely surrounded by trees. Our yard is about 100 yards from the road through the woods so it feels like we don’t even live on a road at all. There’s no traffic driving by and it’s very peaceful. The back patio has a table and chairs for outdoor eating, a boulder with water flowing out of the top, and a fire pit. We also have firewood available if you’d like to make a campfire. There is an awesome swing hanging from one of our trees, a large sandbox for children, some blueberry bushes, and a vegetable garden that you’re welcome to pick from. The outdoor space is perfect for hosting parties and we’d be willing to allow that as long as you let us know. (There are details regarding parking, the well water, lighting, music, etc that you would need to know about before hosting an event). Guest access Guests can access all spaces except for our office, which will be locked. Other things to note This house is kid-friendly. Please let us know if you would like to use our pack-n-play or toddler mattress. We also have a cat who won’t be there during your stay, but guests with cat allergies should be warned.
