Two comfortable rooms and a bathroom all to yourself in historic home in Palmerton, PA. Shared entrance with guest rooms located in separate wing of house from owner's living space. Bathroom is private to the two guest rooms. Desks in both rooms. Plenty of off-street parking and within 5 minutes walking distance of Palmerton's park, municipal pool, and other amenities. Located a 15 minute drive from Blue Mountain Ski Area and a short walk from the Appalachian Trail. Our home is family friendly. Our home was built in 1852 - one of the first homes in Palmerton! Guests can access the backyard (including swingset for children). Guests are welcome to use our kitchen. Laundry facilities are available for a small fee. We are available any time you need us throughout your stay. Please note: Due to COVID-19, we are practicing safe behaviors and making every effort to keep us all safe. Please do not stay with us if you are feeling unwell and/or experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19. If you are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask when entering/exiting our home and when interacting directly with us. Check out time cannot be extended past 11am as we need time to clean the rooms before the next guests. Thank you for your understanding. Palmerton is a walkable small town with a beautiful park, outdoor pool, ice cream parlor, and plentiful casual dining options. Incorporated as a town in 1912, much of the town of Palmerton was planned and built by the New Jersey Zinc Company for workers at its zinc plant. The area in which our home is located is known as Residence Park and was the area in which many of the zinc company’s executives lived. Palmerton is home to the Blue Mountain Resort, on the edge of the Pocono Mountain area, and is a short drive from the Lehigh Valley (Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton). You will need a car to get here*, but once you are in town there are plenty of places to walk to for food, as well as a grocery store, pharmacy, banks, park, bars and an ice cream parlor. We are 2 blocks from Palmerton's beautiful outdoor pool (open Memorial Day to Labor Day). The location can't be beat! *unless you are hiking the Appalachian Trail! We are 2.5 miles from the Appalachian Trail parking area and we will pick you up if you let us know when you are arriving. Driving distances to other local attractions: 15 minute drive to Blue Mountain Ski Resort (we are a great place to stay when there is snow in the forecast - you can't get much closer to the mountain!) 10 minute drive from the I-476 Lehighton exit 15 minute drive to Penn's Peak 20 minute drive to Jim Thorpe 30 minute drive to Pocono Raceway 30 minute drive to Allentown (Lehigh Valley airport, Phantoms Ice Hockey, Iron Pigs baseball) We can provide a pack and play or a small cot for young children. We ask that you cancel plans if you feel unwell on the day of check in or if you have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19. We clean the space thoroughly in between guests.
