Island Boat House - Fisher's Landing, NY
The Island Boat House is on a private 2 acre island in the 1000 Islands near Fisher's Landing, NY. You may bring or rent a boat, or we can provide rides in our boat for arrival and departure. This rustic & charming two br living space has a double & queen bed in the main room with a double bed in a separate room. An historic boathouse over the water, guests enjoy a private deck, with shower, dock & grill downstairs. Enjoy the majesty of the St. Lawrence River - fishing, swimming and sunsets!! The Island Boat House consists of two charming upstairs private rooms connected to a large deck above the boathouse. The windows look out on one of the most beautiful places in the world -the Thousand Islands in the middle of the majestic St. Lawrence River. We face the main St Lawrence Seaway shipping channel with 750 foot ships passing frequently. The boathouse has plenty of deep water dock space. The trip to the mainland is very short, even manageable by canoe or kayak in good weather. The boathouse has a small kitchen upstairs with a sink, a coffee maker, microwave oven and small fridge. Fresh drinking water is also provided. Also, upstairs is your private 2023 composting toilet. Downstairs is an enclosed private walk-in shower, full size refrigerator with freezer and a gas grill. The upstairs deck is large enough for meals and relaxing. This is glamping at its very best. All your towels for showering are provided as are all linens ...do bring your beach towels for swimming. Guests have access to the Boat House apartment, docks & deck. The rest of the two acre private island is shared with the family hosts living in the main house. Between boating, stairs and uneven terrain, those with walking difficulty may find this a challenging destination. Please share any mobility issues with us prior to booking in order to ensure a pleasurable stay. Family members live in the main house on the island and are available to help plan activities and respond to questions. Our immediate neighborhood is a group of other small, private islands, with incredible deep water, amazing fishing, swimming, kayaking and views. Fishers Landing is the closest mainland town, with a marina and waterfront restaurant. Just 4 miles away is Clayton, with a restored opera house, a museum full of antique boats, and many dining options. And last but not least, we are a 15 minute boat ride from Canada, with its many island parks and culturally charming shoreline communities. You and all guests need passports to go to and from Canada ... the !000 Islands Bridge is very close.... If you plan to travel to Canada for dinner or a day trip (which we definitely recommend!!) please remember your passports! You will need them to cross the border. Children can cross with only a social security card. Between boating, stairs and uneven terrain, those with difficulty getting around may find this a challenging destination. Please be sure to share any mobility challenges with the host prior to booking in order to ensure a good fit.
