Red Roof Camp on Otisco Lake

The camp is located on Otisco Lake and is close to apple, pumpking and raspberry picking (depending on the season). Skaneatlas Lake (10 mins away) and the city of Syracuse (20/25 mins away). It is a perfect place for a get away or weekend retreat. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Whether you prefer sipping coffee in the morning watching the birds (we have eagles!) or enjoy swimming and fishing, you will enjoy the stay. The space The cottage has three floors- the kitchen and bathroom floor opens up to the lake, with a wall of windows and two doors facing the lake. A table that comes with extra leafs if the boathouse porch overseeing the water isn’t used for dinner. It even has a couch, perfect for mid afternoon naps. The main floor has the queen bed bedroom, full bed bedroom, living room with a tv, glider, chairs and couch and an enclosed porch. The enclosed porch is simply amazing- enclosed by windows for perfect views - especially great while having your morning coffee. There is another kitchen table on the porch if you like the higher views (great for round of cards on a rainy day), toy box, chairs and a day bed (full) (like sleeping outside but without the bugs). The top floor (the loft) has the twin beds and storage. Kids getaway and/or a great spot for additional sleeping locations. The second open porch is off the kitchen floor and is open to the water. It has wooden rockers, a rocker bench, chairs and small tables. Great for sitting back at taking in the lake life, having a chat with a friend or reading a book on a raining day but being outside. The yard in front of the house towards the water flat for cookouts (there is propane grill there) and having a campfire at night (fire pit). There is a boat house with stairs next to the water. Top of the boathouse is the ideal spot for seeing fantastic sunsets and eating lunch (table, umbrella, chairs galore). Down by the water there is a wide sea wall, 32ft dock, stairs with a railing to walk into the water if you don’t want to jump of the dock, and the boat house that was converted into storage and sitting area (allows you to still be right by the water but not in the sun). Guest access The back of the house towards the road (about 300 feet) is yard and driveway. Feel free to play a game of tag, or bring your badminton set. The whole house is yours for your stay (no one else stays there while it is rented.) the front yard- fire pit, grill, and dock give you screws to the water and true lake life. Other things to note There are stairs and it’s not wheelchair accessible (safely-going through the grass is not ideal/accessible). Sound travels far over water- so especially at night or on calm days be mindful of your voices.
