Mountain top cabin with long range views!!! Like most mountain roads in Bryson City, It'll be a bumpy ride up the partially gravel road to our cabin,,,, Our driveway is steep! AWD isn't needed (our Nissan Altima does great) It can be intimidating at first, but you will conquer and in no time enjoy the challenge! The cabin is in a mountain community called Ocona Lake Estates. Located 5 miles from Bryson City and 5 miles from Cherokee NC/ Oconaluftee Visitor. Catoloochee Ski resort is 18 miles. Must be 25 to book, no pets. Log cabin equipped with 46" HD smart TV, basic local channels, Dvd player, and Android steaming stick. We have a wide range of DVDS, board games and puzzles for all ages. HVAC, fireplace, 2 full baths, 2 comfy bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, single bed with TV/DVD player. Bedroom 2 has a brand new memory foam mattress & queen bed with a full onsuite bath. Our updated Kitchen has everything needed including new refrigerator, electric range, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, crookpot and george foreman grill. Brand new Washer/Dryer added January 2021. Outside with hot tub, firepit, propane grill, picnic table, and multiple seating areas for outdoor enjoyment. All linens and towels included, starter set of toiletries, paper products, coffee, kitchen supplies also provided. Max occupancy is 5. **We understand our guests go on vacation to relax, explore and enjoy the surroundings, not play housekeeper. We only request you start the dishwasher if needed and text housekeeping when you depart** Enjoy the common recreation area by the lake which can be accessed VIA Riverside Rd. It has a pavilion with picnic table, grill and open grassy area to play. Bring your canoe or kayak and enjoy the Oconaluftee River. Only NON-Morotized boats are allowed on this part of the waterway called Ocona Lake because it's upstream from the dam. Enjoy the still water and serenity. This part of the river is great for paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, and fishing! I'm available anytime should you need anything during your stay. Location: The famous Gear Heads INN is at the base of the mountain. We are centrally located between Bryson City, Deep Creek tubing, Cheroke, the Casino, and the Oconaluftee Visitor Center of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You will feel very secluded but close enough to town. Bryson City NC itself and the surrounding area is an outdoor adventurist's paradise.  It has been named a top tourist destination in the United States and one of America's top small towns. My husband and I fell in love with this area when we visited in 2018. We love watching it grow and sharing it with our guests!  Golfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, zip lines, tubing, rafting, jeep tours, scenic rides, waterfalls, parks, fishing, boating and so much more are abundant here! It's home to the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad and makes a perfect home base for exploring Western North Carolina and the Great Smoky Mountains. Perfect for safe travel either going out for an evening downtown or night of luck at the casino. $25 flat fee per trip. WiFi available, please note, capable of steaming but limited in data. Unfortunately, high speed internet is not available in our area but we're able to provide Verizon high speed service, please no 4k, UHD streaming or on-line gaming. Feel free to bring DVDs or watch any of the many we provide. We have limited local TV channels and an android steaming stick (use HDMI 4). You can steam downloaded content from your device or via your service provider. YOUR CONTENT on our TV. *Please do not attempt to steam, download video, or online game using the cabin's wifi in 4k or UHD. It could slow or shut off completely the reminder of your stay when data is reached. You have on average 8-10gb/day. 1-2gb =2hrs of streaming. 4k & UHD doubles that. Max occupancy is 5. and is strictly enforced. No parties or large gathering allowed per our POA restrictions.
