My place is in the woods ,sitting at the foot of Buker Mountain, elevation 1020 ft. A trail to the top of the mountain offers views of Sebec lake and surrounding mountains. The area is a great spot for hunting and fishing. Additional hiking is a short drive from the camp. It's a great place to unplug as internet is not available in the area. Cabin in the woods. Fireplace is available for use but we recommend some knowledge of using the damper or you will fill the house with smoke. The cabin has a rustic exterior with modern amenities inside. I must also stress that this is truly a camp in the woods of Maine. Encounters with mice, insects, squirrels and any number of small critters is to be expected. We do our best to combat these critters but sometimes they are able to figure out a way around our best efforts. If any of these are something you prefer not to encounter, you may want to think twice before booking. I am not trying to discourage you but don`t be surprised if you should encounter said critters. I am a phone call away and have someone in the area to address any problems that could arise. The cabin is situated on a town maintained dirt road. It has 3 season access. Most of the neighbors are a good distance away. They are friendly and helpful. Don`t be surprised if someone stops by to chat. I block use of the cabin in the winter, due to the road conditions; the town does not plow the road that passes by the camp. It is available May through November. A vehicle is needed. Four wheelers are welcomed. Town is 4 miles in either direction, where you can find grocery stores and restaurants. We bring our own drinking water as the well has a high iron content. We will leave a bottle to get you started. Usually there are condiments in the fridge. There is satellite TV and there are movies and a radio. Cell phones usually work in the drive.
