Our cozy carriage house is nestled in the heart of the historic district, on the grounds of a Laurel landmark home, built in 1907. The Carriage House is the second floor unit and is original to the property with all the lovely historic charm. Recently renovated, you’ll rest easy with all the modern day conveniences . Thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each checkout. The perfect getaway for anyone wanting to experience downtown and HGTV’s Home Town! It's a complete cottage, a separate building from any others on the property...the entire second floor of a historic carriage house. Newly renovated, historic property. Fresh and clean... with all the extras of a luxury hotel room, plus more. 1 comfy queen size bed (built by Ben Napier on the Watt's episode in Season 3 of Home Town!) and two twin air mattress beds, fully furnished with linens. One bedroom, living room, full bathroom, laundry room and kitchenette space...and it is even more spacious than it looks in the pictures! Kitchen is fully furnished with everything you need - complete with a Keurig coffee maker and all the fixings, fridge (no freezer or ice maker), toaster oven and snack/drink basket! This space is only accessible by a flight of stairs. Our sister Cottage unit is the first floor of this property. The Carriage House and Cottage are separate bookings. This unit has it's own dedicated central air and heat unit, and we change the filters frequently. Our COVID procedures include deep cleaning and sanitizing all bed and bath linens before each guest check-in, as well as any high-touch surfaces. We also change air filters frequently and try to naturally air out each unit as much as possible before each check in. While the guest house is a separate building, it’s in our backyard directly behind our house separated by our driveway. We are available anytime you need us but we respect our guests’ privacy at all times. Our pool is a shared space with guests; however, we will occasionally close it for personal/family time by hanging a sign while in use. The historic district is home to the most beautiful houses, parks and stories. We love taking long walks on the brick streets and seeing all of the families out and about, enjoying our Home Town as well! Great shopping, food and fun in downtown, just a few steps away! We are just several blocks from the Amtrak train station, so don’t be surprised if you hear the train coming through several times a night. Also, it’s very safe in this neighborhood. Heads up! If you're staying during a Sunday or Monday, please note several popular local shops, restaurants or Museum may be closed. Please check our Airbnb Guidebook and with each business to get their hours of operations to make sure you get the most out of your trip! You can pretty much walk to anywhere you need in the downtown area. Coffee house, bakery, butcher, shopping, banking, restaurants, the Laurel Mercantile stores and Amtrak station are all about 4 -6 blocks away. For those traveling by train, I recommend making travel arrangements from the train station to our home and vice versa - it’s quite a hike to do with luggage. Our sister property, the downstairs cottage, is also on Airbnb and a fun option for groups that are traveling together... book both of them if you need the extra space!
