Remodeled North Corktown House

This is a a funky, spacious house in a great area. It's walking distance to Downtown and Corktown. It's literally across the street from the Casino. Nightlife is a short walk away and you can just walk home. The house is a converted split-level with a balcony and back patio/garden. All the comforts of home included. The space Welcome to Corktown/North Corktown/Briggs in Detroit! (Our neighborhood has a few names) Our house doesn't really feel like it's a part of a neighborhood. Our neighbors include the Motor City Casino, an armored security company, and the Teamsters Union. If you like Jimmy Hoffa or gambling, you're in luck. Walking across the street literally puts you in their parking lot. This also means that our place is extremely safe. We have an armored car drive by a few times every hour and the security cars for the casino make regular patrols. We also have a security system for the house, as well as two guard cats. We are as close to downtown as you can get without being in it. We're basically kitty corner to downtown, except the two streets separating us are freeways. This is EXTREMELY convenient if you want to get around or get into downtown. You can walk to Corktown's Michigan Avenue or Downtown. We get asked a lot if the Casino casts a lot of light pollution into the house. It doesn't. We affectionately refer to it as our lava lamp because at most it casts subtle, different shades of color into the house at night. The streetlights put out more light. The house is an old split-level, two-family home. They turned around the staircase and bulldozed a bunch of walls to create a cool, over-sized, funky place. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 1 master bedroom with a king bed, 1 bedrooms with queen bed and the nursery that has a crib and a full bed. The sectional couch is large and can easily sleep 2 people. We have 2 full baths; one on each floor. The second floor bathroom is attached to the master bedroom. We have a washer and dryer in the basement that you can use. We also provide bedding/sheets, and towels. All the beds will have clean sheets upon check-in and extra sheets and blankets are located in the upstairs hallway linen closet. We have a full kitchen with every possible dish, pot, pan or utensil. We do not have a coffee maker but we do have a french press and coffee grinder. We have a charcoal grill and tables and chairs in the backyard for your use. We have wifi throughout the house. If you would like to play music you can connect wirelessly to the Speaker through your phone. Guest access You will have access to the entire house and backyard. You will also have access to the washer and dryer in the basement. Free parking is located in front of the house on the street. Other things to note We have two kitties that have free range of the house and yard. The cute calico girl cat is named Muus (said moose) and the fat black boy cat is named De Bag. They can go in and out of the house as they please. We also have an urban farm in the backyard. We have raised garden beds and honey bees. The patio is open for our guests use and we have a charcoal Webber grill also available.
