This modernized, air conditioned, non-smoking, family friendly beach cottage, is part of a well maintained duplex. **We are no longer offering modifications to our cancellation policy due to covid-19 so please review our terms and let us know if you have any questions.** **We are not yet accepting reservations for 2024.** We encourage all potential guests to consider what it is they want out of their precious vacation time and make sure that this quieter, non-partying location is a good fit. The property is well managed and maintained by us, the owners who occupy the adjacent duplex unit. We share a wall as well as the backyard fence. We will be considerate of noise (us and our dogs) and expect the same of our guests. For our guests who work remotely, the home has: Gigabit Ethernet Switch (located behind the TV). 3 available access ports to improve connectivity during work-from-home situations. Average internet speeds of 175 Mbps down, 10 Mbps up. Ethernet cables available upon request. We are close enough to the ocean (1 block) such that you can hear the surf and sea lions at night. Stroll down in the morning with your coffee to check the surf and be in the water shortly thereafter. Our unit is 1 story, 650 sqft, features 2 comfortable queen sized beds, central heating and air conditioning, plenty of private yard space, a high end kitchen, two flat screen TV's with cable, free NetFlix streaming, and Roku3. Tank-less water heaters allow for relaxing post ocean swim showers, followed up with relaxation in a comfortable living room. You'll have off street parking for a single car which is very desirable in this area. However if you chose, the property is an short cab, uber or lyft ride from the airport, so if you're looking to stay local, a rental car may not be needed. With cabs, ubers, lyfts, bikes, and the trolley, a reasonably energetic person will fare very well! Our beach towns are extremely bike friendly with bike rentals nearby. We have boogie boards, some fishing gear, beach chairs, and an umbrella for your use. There is a shared washer and dryer for your use on the property. It's located in the basement and is shared with us. You will have a Weber gas grill with plenty of propane for your stay. Fire it up and and you're good to go. Our rental unit is ideal for those vacationers and families seeking a place to retreat for evening rest and relaxation. This location is ideal for those seeking either a high walk-ability factor or as a convenient launch point to day and night adventures allowing for a rich Southern California experience. PETS: We allow up to 2 medium sized dogs with an additional $75 pet fee. Please keep in mind that even the best behaved dogs can act differently in a new environment. They will miss you when you are gone and may bark and howl more than they do at your home. If you intend to spend most of the trip without your dog, please consider if it is a good idea to bring your dog as they cannot be left alone for more than 2 hours. Dogs also cannot be left outside unattended at any time. We live here and have dogs ourselves. We expect that barking is curtailed quickly as we will do the same with ours. Please let us know when you book/submit a request if you would like to bring your dog(s) along. The backyard is private and fenced in and only for the use of guests staying in this unit. Living next door we are only a text or call away from answering any questions you may have in no time at all. Ocean Beach offers a unique blend of energy, diversity, and soul. As the saying goes, 'Ocean Beach: its an attitude not a place'. From hacky sacking, hula hooping, and people watching by the grass flat near the pier, to the weekly Farmers Market with Live Music, shopping, and awesome fresh fare, to the vast offering of dining ranging from fish tacos to romantic fine dining there's something for everyone here and you'll be but minutes by foot to take it in at this rental. Ocean Beach is centrally located and a short walk, bike or cab ride away from many attractions. Above and beyond the beautiful beach, Sunset Cliffs, and numerous diversified activities to suit all tastes, additional attractions within an hour of this location are gambling at the Barona Casino, excellent mountain biking and hiking in the Laguna Mountains, Knotts Soak City Waterpark, Duty Free Shopping, and for the adventurous Tijuana, Rosarito, and Tecate. Disneyland is a 1.5 hour drive and Los Angeles as well as Anzo Borrego State Park are a 2 hour drive making for reasonable day trips. There is a bus line that can take you to downtown or the trolley system 2 blocks from our property. This is a Non Smoking rental property. Most all of Ocean Beach can be described as a semi-urban beach town, so please ask us any questions you may have about day-time noise levels, etc. Beach towns are busy. Ocean Beach is also conveniently located just West of the airport. As such, there can be flight noise from 6:30 am to around 10pm. This is across the board in OB and part of Point Loma. We are dog friendly provided they meet the following criteria: -Visiting dogs are up to date on immunizations and are on an effective flea medication. -Visiting dogs are not excessive barkers and are non-aggressive. -Visiting dogs are not left alone for long periods of time or left outside unaccompanied. -We ask that care is used to discourage digging in the garden. Unless otherwise negotiated, we accept up to two dogs. We charge a flat pet fee of $75.00.
