Swiss Chalet Family Retreat!

Welcome to our family's Swiss style chalet! Inspired by trips to Davos, Switzerland, my grandparents built the chalet in the 1950s to be a family playhouse and gathering spot for their 6 children. It's kind of magical. Today, our large extended family still enjoys holiday celebrations here every year. Our kids love exploring the woodland trails and swimming in Center Pond. We hope you love it as much as we do! Note: the building also has two apartments on the first floor. The space The Chalet has been converted into 3 apartments. The AirBnB space comprises the entire second story. It is one large open-concept room that offers spectacular natural light and a 20 ft. high ceiling with tremendous beams. We’ve created two sleeping areas; 1 king size bed and 2 twins. A queen size futon is also available for sleeping more quests, easily accommodating 6 total guests. Again, there are not separate bedrooms, it is one large space. It gives a lot of our guests "cabin vibes." Much more spacious than a cabin while still feeling cozy! You will enjoy a full kitchen, large dining table, and wrap around deck with café table seating. A full bathroom with tub and upgraded towels and toiletries. We offer low-tox and scent free items. There are two apartments on the first floor. The AirBnb space is the entire upstairs. Please be aware that, to some degree, you will hear and be heard by the other occupants of the building. We ask that everyone is respectful particularly with respect to noise. We ask all of our tenants and guests to keep the noise down after 8pm. Guest access Guests have access to a private 1600 square foot living space equipped with a kitchen, a living room area, and two "bedroom" areas. There is a full bathroom with linens and travel size toiletries. Wifi is provided. Enjoy the grill for your use on the balcony. There is a path to the pond. There is a canoe and a couple of kayaks you may use. We will supply you with coffee, tea, milk, mainstay items and we do our best to provide a welcome treat! The Chalet was built in the 1950s. While there is a ramp that we recently added to make it easier to access the space, our airbnb does not meet the definition of handicap accessible. If you have mobility challenges, please reach out to us so we can give you more specific details. Other things to note A few things to note before booking: In and around the barn on our property we host something called The Game of Village. It starts towards end of June and runs through the first week of August. It is a summer program for kids ages 8-12 and is held daily 8am-4pm on Weekdays. Expect to hear music, voices and laughter! The property is on Center Pond, accessible by a rustic woods path or by the public access which is less than 5 minutes by car or a short walk away. Our side isn't good for swimming but we have a canoe and a couple of kayaks available! Cell phone service is spotty. Most mobile phones work at the Chalet, others just won't. The Wifi is fiber optic.
