Rooms are keyed for security. There is a common area landing between the rooms self-serve hot/cold beverages and some snacks. Microwave and frig are conveniently available also on that community landing. The hostess loves pets, the "olders", and children but the house is not set up safely for this. A desk/writing surface (with office supplies, free wifi and printing services upon request) and a dressing area is available for guest conveniently in their room. People come here to find a relaxing place to unwind during their travels. Situated 20 miles from Lawrence and Ottawa (location of Kansas University and Ottawa University), approximately 1-hour drive from Kansas City MCI airport and forty minutes from Kansas City which provides the bigger urban fix. The main campus of Baker University is in Baldwin City. Meanwhile the rural agricultural community (AgEco) and surrounding farm towns offer a variety of unique events like county fairs, wine tastings with entertainment, a dinner train Kansas Belle (and most recently a three year contract with Polar Express™ train ride during e.o.y festivities, country markets at farms, city farmers market, art and holiday vendor events in historic old barns, and of course: Baldwin City's signature annual Maple Leaf Festival, now running strong for over 60 years! There is no public transportation in town.
