Bayview Cottage in Sunny San Rafael

This unique, secluded, 20 sided 1 bedroom cottage set on 1.5 acres looks out to the bay as well as into a forest of oak trees. Comfortably sleeping 3-4, this well-appointed cottage offers everything you need for a home base in the center of beautiful Marin County. A wrap-around deck gives you the option of sun or shade at any time of day. The space There's something very serene and peaceful when you're inside this unique and beautiful 20-sided cottage with slate roof, stone and bamboo floors, and windows in almost every wall. We've incorporated natural materials wherever possible, using tumbled marble in the shower, granite counters, copper sink and gutters, and maple cabinets. Relax in the sun or the shade on your private wraparound deck and watch the wildlife, from deer and squirrels to the occasional rabbit. Hike up the road for 10 minutes or so until you reach a fire road, which will take you up to some spectacular views of the Bay and bridges. Walk down the road for 10 minutes to pick up groceries at Andy's Local Market, or head out onto the jetty for an easy hike along the water's edge. Guest access The entire guest house is yours, and if you’re up for it, you can even explore the wooded surrounding area. Kids particularly like to run up and down the hill and through the trees! Other things to note The cottage is on a pump system, so no feminine products or wipes down the toilet, please! We can supply a HEPA air filtration unit if one is needed. We have recently installed a Tesla charger at the guest parking space, which is free to use overnight for our guests. We also have an adapter for non-Tesla cars. There is a hot tub on the deck of the main house that is available for guests to use, just let us know when you want to use it so we can make sure it's clean and ready to go. We'll make sure you have plenty of privacy. The cottage is equipped with surround sound speakers and an extensive collection of CDs. Finally, the property is on a generator system that will come on automatically if Marin has one of its (common) power outages.
