Yurt in Guilford

Enjoy a unique wilderness getaway and unwind in a peaceful, 10.3 acre wooded environment in our 30’ diameter Yurt, which sleeps 4 in North Guilford, CT. This elevated cylindrical dwelling offers solitude and a large deck with comfortable chairs and forest views. Shaded and cool in the summer with air conditioning and fans available. This Yurt provides a wonderful respite from the hectic world. Perfect for nature lovers with a nearby brook and miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. The space The property is 10.3 acres, including hiking trails. There is a separate RV campsite that is part of the property and may be occupied during the same time the yurt is booked; however, there is plenty of room for both sets of guests to enjoy the secluded property. The separate bathhouse is only for the yurt and is off-limits to the RV campsite renters. The property is located near a recreational sports club that does have a firing range, so occasional shots are audible, especially with no foliage (i.e., during the winter months). Other things to note Thank you for your interest in Hart Woods Yurt! If you would like to bring more than 4 guests please message us with a request. Every additional guest will add $50 to your nightly cost. Pets will require a $40 extra cleaning charge to be paid. We welcome up to 2 pets, but there is an additional $10 fee for your second pet. This means, if you want to bring 2 pets, you are asked to pay the initial $40 pet fee and then the additional $10 fee for your second pet, making your furry friends' total $50. Pet fees are paid in cash and left on the dining table in the Yurt. Thank you! In the winter, heating is by a wood-burning stove inside the yurt. If the fire goes out, it can be quite chilly, so we want to remind our guests that the fire must be maintained even through the night. A slow burn will last longer and create more warmth, so we have provided instructions and left them inside the yurt for how to best use the wood-burning stove. A set amount of firewood is provided for both heat and outdoor enjoyment; if more firewood is needed, more can be requested for an additional fee, dependent upon the amount needed. Short wood provided inside the yurt is for the wood burning stove. Longer wood for the outdoor fire is provided under the deck on the rack. Guests are asked to not burn the short wood outside and instead use the wood already provided for outside. There is no smoking allowed within the yurt or the bathhouse. Please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly, as there is a legitimate fire risk, given the location. The property is secluded but not wholly private, as there is a separate RV campsite on the property which may be occupied at the same time of your stay; however, with 10 acres of space, and the yurt and RV site being separate and self-contained, there is plenty of room to enjoy the getaway for both sets of guests.
