The space Our historic home is situated two blocks to the US Capitol building. Its location makes exploring Washington, DC a matter of literally walking out the front door! The unit itself is the first floor and lower-level of a beautiful Capitol Hill rowhome. The unit is over 1400 square feet, has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room and dining room (seats eight). You'll find two bedrooms with high-quality queen-sized Saatva plush soft mattresses and a third bedroom with two plush twin mattresses. In the living room is a queen-sized sleeper sofa with a MiracleFoam mattress. There is an additional twin-sized foam mattress pull out sleeper sofa on the lower level. We provide all the necessary linens and blankets for a good night's sleep. Rest assured, all pillows and bedding are hypoallergenically sealed for comfort and hygiene. A Pack 'n Play crib is also included. Bath. The unit has two full bathrooms. One bathroom includes a combination tub and shower with double vanity. The other bathroom has a shower and single vanity. We provide towels, as well as a starter kit of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Leave the hair dryer at home. We have that, too. Entertainment. After a long day of touring DC, kick back in front of one of our large LED-screen televisions -- one in each bedroom and living room -- equipped with premium on-demand TV. Of course, the home is also equipped with wireless high speed internet and some classic board games in case of a rainy day. Safety. Given its proximity to the Capitol, the area around the home is constantly patrolled by the US Capitol Police. Kid-friendly. We've child-proofed this home. Breakables and dangerous items have been moved out of the little ones' reach. We've provided an easy-to-set-up Graco Pack 'n Play crib for bedtime as well as a baby gate to prevent access to the stairway. One bathroom has a low-profile tub/shower combination for an easy bath time. We provide an umbrella stroller to make getting around town with the little one easier. Other amenities: The unit also includes an iron, ironing board, cleaning supplies, foldable grocery/shopping cart and in-unit efficiency washer and dryer. Guest access This is a totally private, independent unit with separate and dedicated entrances. Access to nearby Balance Gym included for free. Other things to note A nearby passenger train runs during the daytime as early as 6:20 AM. It's not something we get complaints about, but nonetheless we want our guests to be informed about it as it could be a disturbance to some. At night, the area turns quiet and peaceful to let you rest and reflect on the day's activities. There are two, completely separate units in our home. We (or sometimes other guests) will be staying in the other unit. However, both units have private spaces and entrances. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. Check-in time is anytime after 3:00pm and check-out time is anytime before 11:00am.
