Central Coast Country Retreat
My husband Mike and I are artists. We searched for 10 years to find the perfect spot for our retirement years. We found 7 1/2 acres here, on the Central Coast, with spectacular views of verdant trees covering rolling hills that reach all the way to the distant mountains south and east of Arroyo Grande Village. Come and stay in our Guesthouse, relax, explore the property, walk the quiet country lanes. For a rural setting, we are surprisingly close to all amenities, beaches, and wineries. The space Our home and the Guesthouse are separated by a double-car-wide carport. The Guesthouse is 1300 square feet. It has its own parking place and entrance. There are two bedrooms each with a queen size bed. There are two bathrooms, each with a shower. In the living room we have TV and WiFi. The kitchen is fully supplied with dishes, flatware, glasses, cups, pots, pans, and basic spices. We have a drip coffee pot with a bag of coffee in the fridge. We do not have an outside grill since we are in a fire sensitive area. Mike has made most of the table lamps and side tables. We have paintings and drawings on the walls done by our artist friends or ourselves. There are some antique side tables and chairs as well. The living room fireplace has a pressed log that is easy to light when you want to feel cosy in the cooler evenings. The view to the mountains can be enjoyed from the front deck as you sit in cushioned chairs sipping a glass of wine (perhaps purchased on a wine tasting tour of the many vineyards found locally,) or coffee in the mornings. Rabbits and quail love the back garden, so you might peek out the bedroom windows to see them there. Guest access Our guests are welcome to walk all around our property. The only restriction is to avoid going into the vicinity of the Art Barn during Life Drawing sessions or workshops. You will know when, because there will be cars parked on the perimeter of the driveway and by the Art Barn. Otherwise, guests may walk around the barn as well. Other things to note There are entry stairs to the front door on the deck near the “Guesthouse Parking” sign. If you do not want to carry your bags up the stairs, you can enter the Guesthouse from the deck first, then unlock the bedroom doors and carry your bags into the bedrooms on the same level as the parked cars.
