Close drive, kayak or bike to Rogers Park, boat ramp, marina & restaurants. Corner lot w/2 sides canal frontage & 20 ft dock you can safely swim off or dock your boat. Not on main river;serene wildlife viewing instead of crowds. Manatees right off the dock. 5 kayaks & 4 bikes included. 4 guests, no pets. The space This is our coastal family vacay getaway with “old Florida" charm. Our "Kayak Kottage" is a 1969 mobile/ manufactured home that was renovated with a Weeki Wachee vibe. This place is all about the LOCATION with relaxing scenic water views. It makes for a great family vacation and or a girls getaway. We have many guests that come back here every year and stay with us. Year round, you can see manatees right off our property, canals, the Weeki Wachee River and Springs. Peak time is Nov thru April when the Gulf temperatures are cooler. We provide reusable food and drink containers at the cottage that you may use while kayaking/boating. Please NO disposables on the river! See River rules and etiquette posted at the cottage or the website This is NOT just a rental that we don’t care about. This is our vacation home and we use it frequently so it gets a lot of TLC, including our porches and yard filled with beautiful plants. You will find everything you need here and more to unplug, relax and rejuvenate your soul. We offer a clean, PET FREE and SMOKE FREE home here. Also easy SELF check in with keypad. The Kayak Kottage is perfect for a couple or family of 4 with two bedrooms and one bath. It has a waterfront screen porch & sunroom, fire pit, outdoor shower, gas grill, Ring toss game, full kitchen, internet TV, washer and dryer. Shed contains paddles, life jackets, beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, floats, beach toys, fishing poles, tackle box, & bait bucket. Guests need to bring their own firewood or can purchase from local vendors in season: Dollar General, BP gas station, Publix, Walmart etc. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in when desired. Besides standard large appliances, pots and pans, utensils, dishes, it has ninja automatic coffee maker, filters, French press, coffee grinder, kettle, toaster, blender, mixer, crockpot, deep fryer, Pizza pans, cast iron, wine, rocks,, & champagne glasses, wine opener, many spices, olive oil & vinegar. We leave a small stock of coffee, sugar, Stevia, teabags, creamer, and condiments. Paper towels, napkins, dish & hand soap, trash bags are provided. In the bathroom, we supply body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, hair dryer, towels, & wash and makeup cloths. The front screened porch has a glider, porch sofa, chairs, ceiling twinkle LED lights, fan, plants/ flowers. Plenty of towels are provided for showers and kayaking. Washer and dryer available on site if needed including laundry detergent and dryer sheets. We also have an iron & small ironing board. 4 -5 beach cruiser bikes are kept on the carport. We have a portable air pump for tires and wrench for adjustments. You will need to bring your own helmets if desired. We have no children's bikes. We have three tandem kayaks and 2 single. All associated gear is stored in the shed. No extra guests or visitors permitted on the property without owner’s permission. No animals permitted here due to medical/ health reasons. Must be at least 21 yrs of age unless accompanied by a parent. No fireworks or open flame candles are permitted at any time. Weeki Wachee is the home of world famous live mermaid shows! ( 3 miles from the Kottage). There are NO shared spaces here, indoors or outdoors. Parking area: 2-3 vehicles are able to park: 1 in covered carport, 1 in driveway & 1 outside the gate on our lawn. Please let us know if you are bringing a boat (size) and need to park a trailer. Also can park at Rogers Park nearby with a $10/day/overnight fee depending on if you need more room for the toys you bring (boats, off-road vehicles, trailers, etc.) Nearest Boat Ramps: Rogers Park: 1 mile driving/8 min idle speed boat ride from the house. (best river and house access) Jenkins Creek Park/Boat Ramp: 1.4 miles (for shallow draft boats) Hernando County Boat Ramp: 3.7 miles (gulf access out of Hernando Beach channel, accommodates larger vessels) Bayport Boat Ramp and Park: 4.0 miles (right at mouth of the gulf from the Weeki Wachee/Mud River, accommodates large vessels) Parking $10. Weeki Wachee Springs State Park: 4.8 miles (kayak ramp and spring head kayak launch) Park your vehicle here or get a ride here. Launch your kayaks for 6$ per vessel and paddle to our place. Or paddle from our place up river to the springs, approximately 5 1/2 miles. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home and property except for a locked storage cabinet for maintenance supplies. No extra visitors permitted on property or parked vehicles without owner's prior approval. Must be at least 21 years of age unless accompanied by a parent. Guests have access to 3 tandem (2 person) kayaks, 2 single, paddles and lifejackets.(Local kayak vendor charges $45-55 per day per kayak. ) Guests also have access to 4 Beach cruiser bicycles. Other things to note Allergies and wildlife: Please let us know if you have any particular allergies before your stay. This is a coastal cottage and is surrounded by nature. We do not have a manicured lawn; we have native plants and wild flowers. Shellfish and seafood are regularly cleaned and cooked on the premises. There may be neighborhood dogs/cats but none permitted on our property.. There is a possibility of peanut/nut contamination if you are extremely sensitive. There is a plethora of wildlife in the area including: raccoons, opossums, bees, snakes, alligators, turtles, various birds, panthers, insects (spiders, ants, etc.), and other wildlife. Please note: Weeki Wachee is in the middle of a swamp. It is to be expected that a bug or two may be seen inside the house despite thorough house cleaning and regular pest treatments; we are up against the Florida wilderness.
