My home is farther from Sequoia National Park than Three Rivers's rentals, but closer to less touristy places in which to experience the sequoias. I live here, in the 5th bedroom, and will be able to help you shape an itinerary that reflects your interests. Once you book and I can email you, I will send you a list of all the things you can do in the area. I look forward to meeting you! My home is right in the center of Springville; you can walk to the market and the few restaurants. I will have coffee and/or tea for you, and then you can go to one of the great breakfast places. Great hiking, cycling, and just hanging out. No TV, but free wifi and long distance land line. I will tell you all the best, secret places to go to! Lately, I have been sharing options with my guests of what to see/do beyond my area, and how to put that together. Guests have mentioned that they wish they would have spoken with me *before* arriving and making all of their other commitments. (Some places they could have stayed longer, some shorter, some added, some omitted.) So, if you have some ideas of what you would like to see in CA and would like some feedback about the logistics, feel free to ask. The details part of this site is a little confusing. I have 4 bed rooms, each has a queen bed and can only accommodate 2 people per room. The suite and the room with the view have private bath rooms; the other two rooms share a bath (though you will never have to share with someone not in your group). If your group is more than 2 people you will need to arrange for more rooms My home is at the end of a dirt road in the foothills. The property has many fruit trees so you can have fresh fruit when in season. There are several out door sitting areas and a pool with a slide and diving board. Springville is at the end of a river canyon, so the mountain air drops every night and flushes out the summer heat. There is a full kitchen (with gas and charcoal grill), outside by the pool for guests to use (instead of the house one). Guests may the communal areas. I will have coffee and/or tea for you, and then you can go to one of the great breakfast places. You are not renting a home, but staying with me; I will interact with you as much or as little as you would like. I regularly help people with day options as well as greater travel logistics. You likely found this site because your are interested in Sequoia Park. If you have time, you might want to consider the less touristy options: Trail of 100 Giants (where you can walk on and inside the big trees); the Stagg tree (the 5th largest and 2nd widest tree in the world) on private property -- I can direct you; and the Needles climbing area (unique rock formations, view of Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in continental US). There are also fantastic granite swimming holes to explore, though they can be congested during the summer. This room is on the ground floor, with a door to the pool. The bathroom is huge, with a shower and a Jacuzzi tub. It also has a small sitting room. When your reservation has cleared and I have your your email address, I will be able to send you a detailed list of directions, things to do, and places to eat. When we meet, we can discuss which of the options might be best suited to your time and interests. My house is perfect for visitors because though I am surrounded by acres of cattle land, I am also a two minute walk into town (though "town" is only about two blocks long.) There are two Mexican restaurants, a home cooking cafe, a hotel bar and restaurant, and a burger place, as well as a small grocery store if you would rather cook. You can arrange to sleep on the roof deck under the stars in the summer, walk the labyrinth on my property, swim from mid-May through August, hike behind my house, and get all kinds of ideas of where to go, based on your interests.
