This is a small family cabin. It accommodates 4 people max (2 adults, 2 kids). If you need space for more, or to have a party, do not book our cabin. The cabin is inside Turner Falls Park. It’s a fully furnished 1-bed/1-bath cabin steps away from picnicking, swimming & the Falls! IMPORTANT! Turner Falls rules: *Tickets required for each guest each day. Get tickets online ASAP. They sell out fast. No entry (re-entry) after 10pm. No pets. Please respond to all host communications. **PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE LISTING SO YOU ARE AWARE OF ALL THE RULES AND REGULATIONS (including the specific rules and regulations that we must follow since the cabin is inside Turner Falls Park)** This little cabin is a family treasure. It has been in our family for generations. We hope all guests enjoy the cabin and have fun on their visit. We also ask that guests respect the property and follow the house rules and check-out instructions (see below). The cabin can accommodate four people max (2 adults + 2 kids). The cabin is a fully equipped one bedroom/bathroom house with a screened porch and sunroom. Guests can use the entire cabin including the washing machine and dryer (no dishwasher). The grounds are heavily landscaped with many trees and a thick tree canopy. We are making improvements to the backyard so it’s not accessible to guests, but feel free to enjoy the small back patio. Because of the heavily wooded nature of the property, we do not have or allow grills because of the fire danger they pose. There are grills throughout the park that you can use. Check with the park staff for more details on park grills. COVID Update: Your safety is our top priority. We are committed to ensuring all surfaces, light switches, facilities, and linens are fully disinfected with bleach products. Please Note: *NO PARTIES - No more than four guests per reservation. This property is not suitable for more than 4 people. *NO PETS - Pets are not allowed within Turner Falls Park (per City ordinance). *NO SMOKING - Smoking is never allowed inside the cabin. *NO WIFI/CATV - Because of the cabin's location, internet/cable is not available. There is an antenna that picks up a few local stations. Cell service varies by carrier and may be slower than usual during the busy season due to the cabin's location. IMPORTANT- - PLEASE READ!! This means that you will not be able to access the cabin. *You must arrive BEFORE 10:00 p.m. The gates to the park close at 10:00 p.m. and entry will not be permitted after the gates are closed. CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS: Check out is at 11:00 am. Before you leave, please remember to: - put all the dirty linens and towels in the hamper (in the laundry room) and please use only what you need, - thoroughly wash all dirty dishes and leave them in the drying rack (rack is under the kitchen sink), - put any trash in the dumpster at the end of the parking lot, and - lock all the doors/windows and leave the keys in the lockbox, -if you’ve made a mess please clean it up and don’t leave the cabin messy. There is a broom and dustpan in the laundry room. Guests can access the entire cabin, including the back patio. Please note, the backyard is not accessible to guests while we make improvements. If you need basic food/beer or personal hygiene items, I recommend visiting the Trading Post inside the Park. You’ll drive past it on your way to the cabin. It’s a large stone building on the right after you enter the park. There are several eating establishments throughout the park. It is easiest to walk around the park. The park does have trams and horse drawn carriages. It can be very busy in the summer (especially on weekends), but there is private parking at the cabin for up to two vehicles. Please be careful and patient when pulling into and out of the driveway. Always watch for pedestrians and other vehicles. On busy days, when the public parking area on Riverside Drive is at capacity, the park will close access to Riverside Drive. Just tell the attendant that you are staying at the Powell Cabin and they will let you through. This cabin is located inside Turner Falls Park. I highly recommend booking the park tickets online to ensure you are able to enter the park. Everyone in your party will need a ticket for every day they are in the park. *Effective 6/2020: No re-entry with tickets. *Effective 4/2021: No entry after 10pm. We have a TV and DVD player with lots of movies, but there is no cable or internet service. There is a mobile hot spot but it can be slow since it runs on cell service. We also have a lot of games and puzzles. Please pay close attention to the weather (Zip Code 73030), particularly the rain, before and during your visit.
