Built in 1893, it feels like visiting grandma's! There are some old home quirks, but overall its a comfortable, functional, and spacious apartment with comfy beds and everything you'd need for a great night's rest 🥰 Ask about additional discount for extended stays! Our place is a comfortable place to take a break. It's almost like going to stay with Grandma. We have everything you need and it's very spacious. Keep in mind our home is over 120 years old and we are working to get some aspects updated but most will remain as is because that's what makes it charming! Everything is functional, comfortable, and clean. There may be some outside noise from trains which come by regularly, we find keeping the fan on in bedroom or TV on with iheart radio blocks the noise. We have a sitting area on front porch. if you'd like to use the pool, just let me know and I'll get it ready for you. Under any circumstances, should you allow your children to swim unsupervised. Our apartment is located right next door so we respond quickly! Airbnb messaging or texting is preferred. We plan to let you enjoy your time with us in privacy. You have free range of the front porch and back yard area. If we are in the backyard cooking or just hanging out, feel free to join us. The more the merrier! We are located right off Interstate 95. We have a few great local restaurant here and some are located within walking distance of our home. We have nice walking trails and a canoe ramp at the Meherrin River. We are located about 45 minutes from Lake Gaston, which is great for fishing, boating, and swimming! We are also about 45 minutes from the diving quarry located in Rawlings VA called Lake Phoenix We also have great thrift and antique stores! This is the kind of town where everyone knows just about everyone. It is peaceful. If you just want to relax, this is the place. We hope you enjoy your visit with us in Emporia! There are a few great restaurants and stores within walking distance. Everything else will be about a 5 minute car ride to anywhere you need to get to in Emporia We do have trains that come by throughout the day and night. Some are louder than others. I'm so used to the sound, it's just normal, like background noise :). Usually if you leave fan running in bedroom that blocks out most of whistles. On your departure, we handle all of the cleaning. We ask that you keep everything reasonably tidy and don't worry yourself with making bed or stripping sheets. Leave the door unlocked with the keys on the kitchen counter.
