Beautifully restored waterfront A-frame cabin on Fox Island offers sweeping views of the Puget Sound, Chambers Bay, and a peek-a-boo view of Mt Rainer. Sit on the large deck and watch seals, otters, and whales swim by. Cozy up next to the fireplace at night and play games. Roast marshmallows and enjoy campfire stories by the large fire pit down on the bulkhead. Two kayaks available for use during the spring and summer months. This European mid-century cedar cabin, situated in a quiet waterfront neighborhood of 7 homes, was built in 1946 and was completely and lovingly restored in 2017. Modern furnishings, conveniences, and appliances were added while preserving the coziness and charm of the original cedar surfaces and ceilings. The vintage Malm freestanding fireplace provides a striking visual highlight as well as a great source of warmth on cool coastal evenings. A large deck was added and beach access was improved to further showcase the vibrant waterfront views and wildlife. There is one bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed and locking door, and a loft with a queen bed and an additional twin-size sofa/futon perfect for a child. A fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, expandable dining table, and a large gas grill on the beautifully furnished deck provide everything needed for enjoying great meals with family and friends. Our cabin is on a quiet street on the south end of the island. There are only a few houses on our private drive. The beach is steps away and stretches for miles. The Fox Island fishing pier is a short walk away. Beyond that, having a vehicle is a must to get to the grocery stores, restaurants, cinema, etc. The cabin is close to picturesque Gig Harbor, the famous Tacoma Narrows bridge and the charming Rustin area of Tacoma. There are two A-frame dwellings on the property: the main cabin and an additional dwelling unit above the garage (which may or may not be occupied by the owner at the time of your stay). The main cabin is closest to the beach and is all yours to enjoy.
