The kitchen is spacious with lots of counter space, high-end appliances (6 burner gas cook-top) and a flat screen TV. Step outside to a private deck or go back to the patio and enjoy the seating area and green grass. The house has high-speed internet (300 Mbps), cable TV service, three flat screen TVs (living room, queen bedroom, kitchen), a gas fireplace, variable speed furnace and central A/C. The living room television screen is 65" - perfect for sporting events or watching movies on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player. You can also watch using our Amazon Prime subscription. There is a large sofa (does not pull out) and also a love seat which can be used for sleeping accommodations. We have a roll-away bed in the master closet (twin XL). After a day of hiking, biking or skiing, relax in the jetted tub. You can't beat the location -- there is no other detached house in town like this. This system eliminates mold, bacteria, viruses, and allergens. It has been tested and proven to kill the SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19 disease). Some history: The building was constructed as the First Church of Christ, Scientist in 1924. This parcel is indicated as vacant in on the 1914 Sanborn fire insurance map, while the building is shown on the 1929 edition. As early as 1907, a small group of Christian Science believers met in private homes. In 1909, the church and reading room were housed in a commercial building at today's 131 E. 2nd Street. A 1948 Salida Mail article reported that members had held services for twelve years at the "cottage chapel" on E. Third Street; it had the same address as our building. In 1923, the Salida Daily Mail reported that the First Church of Christ, Scientist, would build a brick church on E. Third Street on the site of its reading room. The newspaper reported that plans had been received in June: "The structure will be of light brick and will be 38 X 50 feet. It will seat 150 people." The building was erected to house the growing congregation. The church was still listed here in the 1951 city directory. Guests have access to the entire home You can't get any closer to downtown -- our house is located 1/2 block from F Street (and Moonlight Pizza). Alpine Park and the Farmer's Market (held every Saturday - spring-fall) is one block away. Just 3 blocks to Riverside Park and the Arkansas River! You won't need your car. Grocery store (Safeway is 1-1/2 blocks away, and the new Natural Grocers store is one block. Alpine Park, where the Farmer's Market is held every Saturday (spring thru fall) is one block away. 1/2 block from F Street, the main drag in Salida. 4 blocks from Riverside Park and the Arkansas River. There is a twin XL roll-away bed located in bedroom #1 closet (with pillow, sheets, blanket and quilt). Also, the sofa in living room can be used for a bed, if necessary. The house has two grills, a Weber charcoal grill (with gas start) and a Weber gas grill. We recently added a whole-house air filtration system. It inactivates 99.99% of SARS-COV-2 (virus which causes COVID-19 disease) within 0-2 seconds.
