The Loft is a lovingly restored 300 year old adobe on the 2nd story of Rancho Manzana. Located on the historic Plaza del Cerro, in the world famous rural town of Chimayo. The main level features huge picture windows, soaring ceilings, a bedroom with a private claw foot soaking tub, a den with a double bed, & the sleeping loft with a double bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen, one bathroom with shower. Beautiful views and sunsets, overlooking the apple orchards and red cliffs in the distance. The space This unique space has high ceilings with a grand open floor plan filled with the warm New Mexico light, overlooking the historic Plaza del Cerro. It is fully furnished with Taos hand-crafted furniture in the living room, upholstered in an animal themed patterned fabric from the Museum of New Mexico. There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer, claw foot bathtub and a large walk in shower. The bedrooms all have 100% cotton bedding. The bedroom has a queen size bed with a large closet, the den/bedroom and the loft, both have full size beds. The loft is excellent for youthful travelers, not suited for older travelers and no children under the age of 12 years. WiFi is provided. There is a small screen TV for watching Netflix and Amazon movies, located in the living room. Lovely outdoor eating area. To preserve our beautiful cherry wood floors, we request that our guests remove their shoes when inside the house. Walking distance to the Santuario de Chimayo and world famous Rancho de Chimayo Restaurant. This unique space has unusually high ceilings with grand open spaces full of light. The bedroom has features not usually found in an old adobe. The light filters through shutters with a clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom, romantically located under a window with the flowering catalpa tree right outside for your evening soak. The bathroom has an extra large shower and a washer and dryer. Radiant heat in the winter and AC in the summer. The den has a comfy double size bed. Small flat screen TV for watching NetFlix, Amazon, in the living room cabinet. The sleeping loft overlooks the living space and is generously furnished with a double bed. Come and enjoy the historic feeling of staying in an old adobe with all the comforts of home. Sleeps 2 couples comfortably. We have plenty of parking and can safely store your bicycles or other valued possessions while you are out exploring the vast country side. Guest access The lovely open floor plan kitchen is fully equipped for those who like to cook - In addition there is an outdoor eating area under the grape arbor with gas and charcoal BBQ's. Enjoy a lovely sunset by the pond with a glass of wine. Wander around through the property, it's fenced (please do not wander through closed gates) and be respectful of neighbors' living spaces, especially when visiting the historic Plaza del Cerro. Some of the buildings appear to not be inhabited - it's best not to rattle on doors or windows as you may get a surprise when someone sticks their head out! Other things to note If you like to venture out, we suggest a visit to Tent Rocks for great hiking, south of Santa Fe, a visit to Christ in the Desert Monastery and Ghost Ranch, north of Abiquiu. During the summer months, book a tour of Georgia O'keffee's home in Abiquiu. Not to be missed is a soak at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs or 10,000 Waves in Santa fe.
