Located in the heart of Old Bisbee with the best views of our historic Main Street, this room is a photographer's paradise. Bisbee as our base, we would adventures for days on camping trips finding caves to sleep in and stop along the road to pick wild flowers and dream up editorial shoots or drive to ancient towns in Mexico where we rest in haciendas and take in the colors and heat, and of course finishing our day with Bacanora (Sonoran version of Mezcal). I will forever remember the first glimpses of seeing the regional desert surrounding Bisbee through her eyes on our travels. This room is an homage to the surreal nature of this place generously captured by her photography. I use the word generous, because the incredible locations she takes us to are often hidden, no longer exist, or quietly kept away from the public. “Mutual Fascination” for example was photographed on the trotting grounds in Goodyear, AZ months before the site was demolished. “Dreamwalkers” captures the original stage of the Grand Theater in Douglas, Arizona. The rest of the ceiling caved in and the remains quietly house two howls and not much more. Her longtime friend and collaborator Sydney Ballesteros has styled many of these shots and scouted the locations for Territory Magazine, for which she is the creative director, stylist, and editor. The magic those two women have captures is an honor to share in the hotel and I hope living with their art for a night or two brings you a sense of wonder and curiosity as you continue your travels near or far. All photos are for sale. The room is accented by accessories found by other artist duos who have traveled as friends and created destination boutiques in Tucson to share their treasures and incredible design sensibilities such as Savior (Erica of Earthlings Jewelry + Sydney Ballestero who’s interiors are featured in Architectural Digest) , Puebla House (founded by two friends to celebrate their desert homes), and The Little Little Shop. Guest access All guests enter the building through our Subway Street entrance. During business hours, you'll also have access to our "lounge", Object's storefront on Main Street. Other things to note Welcome to the Wild West. Bisbee encourages a certain amount of freedom that you won’t find elsewhere. Fireworks on a Tuesday? Sure, why not? In the building, though, we have a few rules out of respect to our guests and residents. Quiet hours are between 10 PM and 10 AM. Please be respectful of other guests, particularly when in the hallways. If another guest is not respecting quiet hours, please message us and we will contact them directly. We love when you share our spaces with friends, just please let us know if you plan to host a gathering of more than 2 people not included in your reservation. WE DO NOT ALLOW UNAUTHORIZED FILM/PHOTO SHOOTS. Private and commercial shoots are, however, permitted for a fee. Please be honest with us, if you try to use our property for a shoot without permission, we will ask you to leave without exception and we will not reimburse your reservation. Sorry, due to past damage issues no pets. Our building is over 100 years old, and while we’ve brought many modern conveniences into the space, you may not have all the comforts you're familiar with. Specifically, our building was constructed before the invention of air conditioners and heaters. That means it’s full of light, designed for natural heating/cooling via intelligent air-flow dynamics, and positioned to maximize the sunlight to heat in the winter and cool in the summer (we do, however, provide electric heaters in each room during the colder months, and offer additional fans during the summer by request). Also, like most of Bisbee, there is no elevator or porter service to reach guest rooms on the second and third floor. No TVs, but plenty of books...and high-speed WiFi if an hour in Bisbee doesn't make you forget that modern technology exists ;) This is an adventure, remember? If you have any specific requests, we’ll do our best to satisfy them.
