Description
Mourning Dove Studio, a zen like (UPSTAIRS) room. Sleeps up to (2) adults, (no children), king bed, coffee, tea, oatmeal, bottled water (no ice). Clean bathroom w/towels. Only 1.5 miles from I-5, perfect for travelers wanting a safe place to rest. Hosts on site. We are unable to host any service animals/animals, due to allergies and serious health conditions. (We hold an exemption/Airbnb) Smoking or vaping OUTSIDE of fenced property only. The Airbnb is for REGISTERED guests only. Thank you. The space A king size bed that you will notice in almost every review, is truly the most comfortable bed ever. Linens and towels provided, WiFi, DVD player, kitchenette with a microwave, Mueller coffee maker, small refrigerator, and a convection/toaster oven. Dishes are also provided. The kitchenette is not designed for cooking on long stays, (no hot plates please )but rather heating up of food. There is also a shared closet space with extra amenities. We do not regulate your heating and cooling and ask that you be mindful of this during your stay. Enjoy your coffee or tea on the deck, or enjoy a glass of wine (not included :-)) in the evening while gazing at the stars, it’s absolutely beautiful. We encourage our guests to meander around the property, sit by the pond or under the pergola. At your request we can turn on the outdoor hanging lights while you enjoy the sitting area. We’ve enjoyed sharing our space with the Airbnb community and have loved getting to know our guests. We’ve had people stay for one night and longer and have loved every minute of it. Our highest priority is providing a clean, comfortable, safe and positive experience for you. Whether you are a traveler or those looking for a brief vacay or business stay. When booking if there are two of you then book for two not one as some people do. It does not change the price but allows me to stock accordingly. Please see the information in “Other things to note” for dining suggestions, (before you make the trip). Please note....Not suitable for/no service or companion animals due to the health and safety of family members who have severe allergies and who also use the room. We do have an exemption approved by Airbnb. Guest access You'll have a private entrance to the upstairs detached studio/loft, with free private parking just beneath the studio. Also, enjoy coffee on your private deck or in our pergola/garden. Other things to note Although we do not have any dogs, surrounding neighbors do and there will be occasional barking. We have oatmeal and raisins available to you on the counter for a quick breakfast. Please note that we do not provide alternate foods for those with special dietary needs. Upon checking out please make sure you have all of your belongings. If something is left behind and you need it, you will be responsibile for prepaying to have it shipped/mailed to you. We are a very small community and restaurants are limited. We have a few Mexican restaurants, a couple of pizza parlors (Marco's a family owned business and delicious), a family owned Hometown Cafe (open for breakfast and lunch only) and a hamburger joint. Sweet Swirls a yummy little bakery here that is open Tuesday thru Friday. Stop by and tell Shelly we sent you. If you're coming from the south, heading north we recommend Farwood restaurant, in Orland, just 12 Miles from us. They are a farm to table restaurant serving lunch and dinner. Another recommendation (in Orland) is The Hive, fabulous breakfasts (lunch and dinner too) they use local honey’s in many of their dishes. They make a delicious lavender lemon drop among other libations. If you are coming from the north, we recommend you stopping in either Redding, or Red Bluff to eat. We love to eat lunch at From the Hearth in Red Bluff or in Redding. POINTS OF INTEREST: LASSEN NATIONAL PARK is a 70 mile trip from our Airbnb. An amazing park, home to steaming fumaroles, meadows freckled with wildflowers, clear mountain lakes (Emerald Lake is breathtaking) and numerous volcanoes. SACRAMENTO RIVER is 6 miles from our Airbnb. Enjoy trails, picnics in the park while dipping your toes in the oh so cold river or enjoye one of the hiking trails. CHICO is a quick 25 minute drive from here. CSU Chico, Bidwell Mansion, Bidwell Park are just a few of the places to go in this lovely little town. Upper Park is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon, although One Mile Park is my favorite. There are 70 miles of trails open to hikers, equestrians and bicyclists. Eat at the Sierra Nevada Brewery or Tres Hombres, enjoy Thursday evening and Saturday morning Farmers Market, or any of the quaint local coffee shops and bakerys. ABBEY OF NEW CLAIRVAUX is just 9 miles from us. Tour the beautiful 12th Century Cistercian architecture, donated by William Randolph Hearst. Enjoy wine tasting with the monks. BARRY KIRSHNER WILDLIFE FOUNDATION, a 43 mile drive, is home to lions, tigers, ligers, bears and much more. As a lover of large cats, I volunterred at this foundation for 2 years. Quite a thrill to see them up close. They are well cared for by a foundation who's owner has worked with large animals for over 60 years. MT. SHASTA, a 1 hour and 45 minute drive is great for hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Kayak in one of the beautiful lakes, hike near the falls in McCloud, visit the Fish Hatchery, or enjoy golfing. Visit the many shops in town known for it's spiritual mecca. THUNDERHILL Raceway Park is a 35 minute drive from us. ROLLING HILLS CASINO and RESORT is a 6 minute drive from us and among food and gambling they have Equestrian events, The Links for golfers, Clays and hunting as well as an outdoor venue for live music. RED BLUFF is 15 minutes away, enjoy the annual Bull Sale or the Red Bluff Round-Up.
