The Bay Home
Beautiful and cozy 900 sq.ft. 1 bedroom waterfront home located on the Bay of Green Bay. Perfect for couples looking for a quiet, clean, and romantic getaway. Amazing views, night skies, and tranquil setting. Fully equipped kitchen with a double oven, refrigerator, microwave, pots & pans, plates, glasses, and silverware. The bathroom is furnished with towels, washcloths, and soap/shampoo. There is a washer and dryer in the laundry room. Laundry soap provided for those who want to take clean clothes home! Flat Screen TV with DVD/Blue Ray player. Note: there is no cable service in the home. Home antenna picks up almost 20 channels from the Green Bay area. We provide some assorted games and DVD movies. A Redbox is close by to rent movies. Your personal hotspot allows for internet use. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom. The 2 living room areas have 2 couches, a Twin size Daybed, and a Twin size Trundle bed. This provides sleeping arrangement flexibility if you have more than 2 people. The $120 night fee is for 2 people. Add $10 a night for each additional guest. In floor heat and hot water on demand make this a great vacation spot for any time of the year. Outdoor area features tremendous water views, fire pit for family or romantic evenings, a gas grill for barbecuing your favorite foods, and outdoor table and chairs. There are a few rustic looking outbuildings which are for the owner's use only. We live close by, but not on the premises. If our guests have a longer stay, we may have to stop by to mow the lawn, but would arrange with the guests a mutually agreeable time. The Bay Home is located 7 miles north of Oconto and 8 miles south of Peshtigo. Marinette is 13 miles north. North Bay Shore Campground and Boat Launch are 2 miles north. Oconto Breakwater and Boat Launch are 7 miles south. There are many great places to eat nearby! Great fishing from your own boat or from shore. Other attractions include: Oconto Breakwater Park : a one-acre park located at the mouth of the Oconto River. Offering a pavilion, great fishing areas, boat-launching and boat slip rentals. Holtwood Campground and Sporting Complex : 68 acres along 4,000 feet of frontage on the Oconto River. A sports haven containing two pavilions, a fishing area, a boat launch, six ball diamonds, playground equipment, two sand volleyball courts, wide-open space, picnic areas and football/rugby/soccer field. Beyer Home Museum: An 1868 brick home furnished to reflect the Victorian period. A museum annex on the grounds contains Old Main Street and its shops, Copper Culture artifacts, and display about Oconto County history. Take the Rains Ranch: Horseback riding! Provides trail rides, lessons & birthday parties and Tack and Boot Shop. Copper Culture State Park & Museum: Established after discovery in 1952 of artifacts relating to the Old Copper Culture. These artifacts date from about 4000 to 3000 BC. Burial ground of North America's earliest metal users, the Oconto Site is the oldest dated cemetery in Eastern North America. Kugel's Cheese Mart: A family business since 1952 located in Lena approximately 8 miles away. Factory-direct retailer selling locally made cheeses and a few select imports. Wildman Adventure Resort: Challenge yourself, your friends, your management team, or your special group. The Alpine Tower is a remarkable high ropes course adventure constructed on a series of vertical towers, providing an unforgettable outdoor experience. Area also features some nicely maintained golf courses! We have ample parking for your favorite boat, trailer, and vehicle. Rural travel requires your own personal means of transportation. There is no WiFi service to The Bay Home. Some people have success with a personal hotspot.
