(we have 2 children, 13 and 14 years old, well behaved and respectful of your wishes with respect to your enjoyment of the property) You have full use of the entire property and equipment even if we are on site Other things to note Steenbrug Lake (formerly Bass Lake) is located approx 30 min. south of Bancroft, and 1 hour north of Bellville. It is situated just west of hwy 62. The lake itself is spring fed by several inflowing creeks and has one principle outflowing creek which sends it's water north to neighboring Limerick Lake. Steenburg Lake is surrounded by approximately 200 cottages and year-round homes which are accessible from either Steenburg lake North or Steenburg Lake South. Fish species include Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass and Splake. Bass season in 2026( in our zone 15, begins 4 Saturday in June) begins 27th of June, and any intended catch and/or catch and release of the species before this time is illegal. Local attractions include McGeachie Conservation Area which has 500 acres of land and many unmarked walking trails, beaver ponds, wildlife and acres of wetlands. If you like a little more adventure, Steenburg Lake Road intersects with Hastings Road which is a part of the Hastings Heritage ATV trail (a former rail line) If you are running low on supplies The Rustic Roadside Restaurant 13min south on hwy 62 carries fresh baked bread and other baked goods as well as milk, ice, eggs, pop and a few other essentials. They also scoop up Kawartha Dairy Ice-creams. It's also the perfect spot if you don't feel like cooking. Definitely look up their menu on line or give them a call to see what they carry. Additionally, St. Ola's Station at the corner of hwy 62 and Steenburg Lake Rd. North sells staple food items, cold drinks, ice cream, homemade meals and is our new local LCBO.
