Meditative Rustic Getaway In the Woods. Located on gorgeous Madeline Island, near Big Bay Park. Unplug and relax - no tv and no wifi, just the music of the wind in the trees. The space Sweet, rustic log cabin set back from the road and surrounded by trees. Cabin is completely wood construction, with a cozy open plan. Downstairs has a living area with a wood stove for chilly evenings, very well-equipped kitchen with large island, separate dining room (great for board games), small bathroom with shower and laundry. Upstairs are two open loft sleeping spaces, separated by a catwalk, each with a queen-size bed. The upstairs loft spaces are under the eaves and have a little less than 6 feet of clearance at the center beam and in the dormers, and elsewhere the ceiling slants down at an angle. There is a large screened in porch where you can enjoy the view of the woods in all weather, and an open air back deck that catches sun throughout the day. A separate yoga studio with large windows provides a lovely, light-filled meditative space. Additional amenities are the spacious outdoor shower cubicle with hot and cold water, and a small wood stove-heated sauna. There is a fire pit and Weber BBQ grill in back yard. There are wooden walkways all around the cabin for ease of accessing back yard, shower, and yoga studio. The cabin was originally built as a spiritual retreat. We love it as a place to truly get away--disconnect from the grid and reconnect with the basics of life. There is a landline telephone with local service for any necessary calls, but there is little or no cell signal, no internet, and no TV to interrupt your serenity. Window fans typically provide sufficient cooling in summer (no AC). Cabin is kept warm and cozy in cooler months by the wood stove and propane heating unit. Town is about six miles away. Big Bay Town Park with its fabulous beach and lagoon is about 1.5 miles away. Guest access Whole cabin, screened in porch, deck, sauna, yoga studio, all yard space, parking for 2-3 cars Other things to note Cabin location is serene and private, not visible from road or by neighbors. No tv, wifi, or internet, and poor cell phone service, but a land-line phone is available in the cabin for local and emergency calls. Wifi and cell signal are available in the town of La Pointe.
