We invite artists from all over the world to come interact with the history, community, and architecture here by creating art installations of exceptional quality. NOTES ON PULLMAN: The Pullman community is located on the far south side of Chicago and is in my opinion one of the most interesting and diverse areas of the city. People come from all over the world to see the historical remains (incredibly intact) of an industrialists utopia once touted "the worlds most perfect town" (now a National Monument) and learn about Eugene V. Debs and our Labor History. It is not the gold coast or your typical Chicago tourist spot but is instead a multicultural community engaged in preservation, restoration and re-purpose/reuse. There is a big box super store within walking distance with some organics as well as an eccentric diner/restaurant for fluffy pancakes (breakfast/lunch), a small cafe across from the Greenstone Church (see menu in pics), and a new food hall on 111th street, but most of your shopping /dining will likely be outside of the community (Hyde Park is a short drive or train ride away with lots of dinning and shopping choices, etc). Pullman is truly unique and filled with charm (and only 20-30 mins to downtown Chicago). I'm pretty sure you will fall in love. Please contact to confirm availability and let me know a little about yourself. Ask all the questions you like! Free WiFi. Backyard. Kitchen w/ pots, pans, salad spinners, coffee maker/grinder, tea pot and dual high quality hot plate (no dishwasher). Organic salad garden (in season). Washer/Dryer (if you let me know in advance). Fully furnished apartment w/ most everything you need! Happy to show you around the neighborhood (if available and desired) and get you settled in. I'm just down the block if you need anything. Also text or phone. Public Transportation: The Metra Electric train runs from Pullman to the Chicago loop on a posted time schedule every few minutes during rush hours to once an hour during the rest of the day/evening Monday through Saturday and every two hours on Sunday. You can find a complete schedule on line at the metrarail site by looking up the Metra Electric Line (ME). The Kensington / 115th Street station is an easy 3 block walk from the flat and takes you to Millennium Park station in the heart of downtown Chicago.
