Timberdoodle Lodge- located four miles east of Highway US 41 approximately halfway between Escanaba and Marquette in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, 16 miles north of Lake Michigan and 17 miles south of Lake Superior. Every season offers fun! Whether you enjoy campfires with S’mores, Fall colors, or playing in the snow, Timberdoodle Lodge has something for you. Perfect for families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). We are a quick 20-30 minute drive away from trail head access. The space Our place has 8 bedrooms and 2 bunk rooms. There are 40 beds of which 10 are queen size, and we charge $640/night for up to 16 guests and each additional guest is $20/night. There is a powder room on the first floor off the kitchen. This space is reached by stepping up two stairs. Second floor has 8 bedrooms along a central hallway. Each bedroom has a queen and twin bunks. There are two full bathrooms on this floor. The third floor is dorm-style. The first space has 2 queen and 4 twin beds. The second has 1 queen and 5 twin beds. These spaces are separated by a bathroom with a shower. The lodge has one large cooking facility. A large great room 900 sq. ft. which has a pool table and Youtube TV through Starlink wifi. You are welcome to stream from your own apps. Guest access Over 500 acres of private property available to its guests. The west branch of the Whitefish River flows through the back side of the property. The river is accessible by a short drive around or a hike on unmaintained trails through the property's fields and woods. The river is great for exploring by your own or rented canoes and kayaks. Brook and rainbow trout are found in its waters. In the summer, there is also a great spot to park, bring your camp chairs to set in the shallow, flat bottomed section and enjoy a swimming hole nearby. In the winter, there is nothing like bringing your snowshoes, skis, supplying your own snowmobiles or atvs to explore the land. After a short drive on mixed country roads, you are also able to gain access to nearby trails that will take you around the UP. Guests can request a map of the property boundaries for exploring. Our central location in the UP makes it the perfect home base for exploring Munising (Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore), Marquette (hike Sugar Loaf), Escanaba, and Gladstone. A quick Google search will provide many nearby waterfalls and hiking/cross country ski trails. Don't forget to enjoy the night sky while here! We have a fire pit out back and a sauna off the garage.
