Guests enjoy HGTV-revamped 1930s barn — inside: lux lounge areas, full kitchen, 2 half baths and shower, billiards, shuffleboard, giant jenga, large flatscreens w/ cable inside; breathtaking views of valley and San Juan Mtns, yard games, grill and giant firepit outside. LODGING: 6 furnished walk-in safari tents (w/ mix of cloud-like queens, twins) in aspen grove behind barn + shared toilet/walled outdoor shower. The space Sombrilla Springs is an amazing 450-acre private ranch the likes of which you see in movies and dream of going in real life! Surrounded by the San Juan Mountains, you'll wake each crisp, cool morning to stunning views, a delicious and hearty breakfast, and beautiful pastures dotted with roaming cattle, horses, and often wild elk! Each day, you can explore the ranch and the trail that runs right thru it or others nearby. In Pagosa Springs, you can soak in the therapeutic hot springs, see a movie at the historic Liberty Theater downtown, shop, dine and visit art galleries. Other area excursions include rock climbing (indoor and outdoor), scenic drives, rafting and kayaking, wildlife park, hot air balloon rides (on- and off-site), disc golf, dog sled/cart tours, golf, historic trains (in nearby Durango and Chama, NM) and more! Each evening, you can toast sunsets from the giant firepit overlooking our valley or the balcony of our HGTV-revamped, lux amenities barn, then experience jaw-dropping wonder at our unbelievably star-laden night skies as you cuddle up and tell stories around a warm, crackling fire before drifting off on a cloud-like bed in our fully furnished walk-in safari tents. Guest access Guests are welcome to play anywhere on the ranch. You're also welcome to explore the millions of acres of wilderness and National Forest adjacent to the ranch — Opal Lake trailhead is just 10 minutes away. Hike and explore, mountain bike, picnic, and fish for trout. We also offer a myriad of add-on experiences… progressive dinner/wine-cheese tour; pasture picnic; archery obstacle course; sunset happy hour setup; starry night setup; live fireside music; horseback riding; fly-casting lessons; guided fishing; massages; private yoga instruction; kiddo crafts; kiddo treasure hunt and more! Other things to note Each tent has a porch with outdoor seating and small outdoor firepit. If it gets too cold at night, we provide additional blankets and a propane heater. Wifi and electricity access for device charging, etc. is in the barn. We love dogs, but we can only allow them on a case-by-case basis due to the presence of cattle and horses, the limitations of glamping (can't "lock" them in a tent), several ranch dogs present, wildlife (some of which see small dogs as prey), etc.
