Following a tragic fire in 1909, local visionaries formed the Wise Hotel Corporate, commissioning the construction of a 22-room hotel in 1910. As ownership changed hands, Herbert Thompson’s stewardship in 1925 marked a pivotal era, transforming the establishment into the iconic Inn we know today. Under Herbert Thompson’s transformative leadership in 1925, The Inn at Wise underwent a remarkable metamorphosis. Revamping with eclectic antiques and exquisite art, the establishment bloomed into a hub of sophistication. Fast forward to the 1990s, neglect set in until a dedicated effort by the Wise County Industrial Development Authority breathed life back into this historic beauty, allowing it to stand today as a symbol of timeless charm, crafting new tales for generations to cherish.
