Waterfront Home on Lopez Island
Lopez Island is a great place to enjoy the island way of life: biking, kayaking, hiking, Beachcombing, and whale watching. Be prepared to wave as the locals do, because Lopez is known as the “Friendly Isle.” Our home is on the south end of Lopez Island, a 24km (15 mi) long island with 2,200 people in the San Juan Islands, which were voted #1 island in the US by trip advisor and the #3 destination in the US by Lonely Planet. The home has a view of Iceberg Point, the Salish Sea (Strait of Juan de Fuca), and the Olympic Mountains. You can relax and enjoy the slow pace of island life or participate in one of the many activities: kayaking, biking, hiking/walking, and orca whale watching. The house has two bedrooms (one queen and two twins), 1.5 bathrooms, washer/dryer, dishwasher, Bose sound system, and wifi. Lopez is a serene and magical place. You’ll see bald eagles, deer, seals, and if you are lucky, orcas from the bluff. The stars on a clear night are amazing. There’s a farmer’s market every Saturday in the summer and more than 30 farms on the island. You can visit a fish stand and eat fresh oysters. There are no traffic lights. Everybody waves when passing another car on the road. Lopez Island has everything you’d want for a holiday...and more. We provide guests a detailed PDF with things to do on the island. You'll take a Washington State ferry from Anacortes to Lopez Island. A car and ferry reservation is recommended. Our home looks out over Iceberg Point, one of the most scenic walks/hikes in the San Juan Islands. There's wifi, but no TV.
