Updated studio flat nestled in the enchanted Elfin Forest of San Diego County, a short drive from Encinitas and Carlsbad beaches. This cozy flat offers easy access to miles of scenic trails perfect for hiking and mountain biking. Step outside to see friendly farm animals- mini horses, goats, and chickens, adding to the rustic charm. The space This is the best of both worlds. Close to all the amenities that San Diego has to offer- Beaches (20 min), Legoland (25 min), Safari Park (25 min), Sea World (40 min) and shopping at the Carlsbad Forum (15 min) but you'll feel like you are deep in the country with the occasional noise of the hawk, owls, and coyotes. The studio flat is privately situated above our garage, only connected with the main home through an attic space. Enjoy the sounds of nature with the owls hooting and coyotes howling in the night. The property is lined with 100 year old oak trees and countless exotic fruit trees like cherimoya, cherry guava, and Pakistan mulberry. Surrounded by miles of beautiful trails for hiking or for those who are mountain bike enthusiasts, owner Damon would be happy to give you guidance for the best access to local trails as he is an avid mountain biker. Although we currently have a minimum stay of 2 nights, if you are requesting a 1 night stay, please message me and if we can accommodate your request we will be happy to! Just ask! Guest access We invite our guests to take a walk down the driveway to visit the goats and horses. If there is fruit on the trees, please enjoy a loquat or persimmon. However, we request no entry through gates such as the horse pasture, chicken coop or bridge. This is for the safety of our guests, animals and property. Please understand that we would love for you to visit with the animals through the fence without Jessica and Damon present, however if Jessica is available she would be happy to have you help feed the horses and goats. Just ask! Please remember that our Airbnb studio flat is also part of our home. We want to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. Being a host has taught us a lot. Other things to note Frequently Asked Questions 1. How big is the Airbnb? The Airbnb is a private studio flat located above our garage. It is attached to the main house but does not share interior living space (only an unfinished attic area connects the structures). Guests consistently comment on how quiet and peaceful the space feels. You’ll have your own private entrance and dedicated area to enjoy your stay comfortably. 2. Can we interact with the animals? Yes - we’re happy to offer a supervised opportunity to observe and participate in evening feedings when Jessica is available and schedules allow. Jessica typically feeds the miniature horses and goats: • Winter: approximately 4:30–5:30 PM • Summer: approximately 5:30–7:00 PM (depending on sunset) Please note that animal interactions are always host-led by owner Jessica and cannot occur outside of scheduled feeding times for safety reasons — for both guests and animals. 3. Will we get a tour of the property? During your stay, Jessica is happy to walk you down during feeding time to share a bit about the property and animals. For safety, privacy, and liability reasons, we do not offer formal property tours or unrestricted access beyond designated guest areas. 4. Are there horses to ride at the Airbnb? No. We do not offer horseback riding. Our animals are miniature horses and are family pets -not riding animals. We also do not coordinate local riding reservations, but you’re welcome to search for equestrian facilities in the greater San Diego County area if riding is part of your travel plans. 5. Can we interact with horses in the neighborhood? No. The surrounding properties are privately owned and are not affiliated with our Airbnb. We kindly ask that guests respect our neighbors and avoid approaching animals or entering any neighboring properties.
