Thank you for your understanding. ===== Short review: ** A beautifully decorated studio apartment in the 1st floor of a house. ** An elegant bedroom and an exquisitely comfortable queen size bed. ** A foldout-table for two by the window, overlooking a lush garden. ** A large walk in closet with a dresser. ** A modern-sleek-kitchenette in the room, including: coffee/tea-maker, mini-fridge/freezer, crystal quartz counter top, 2-burner-inductive-stove, granite-white-sink, baking/toaster-oven, microwave, blender, and the cooking-dining pieces to make it all work smoothly. ** Private stone-tiled bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels, with hair dryer. ** A heater to keep the room warm and toasty when it gets cold ** Internet access. ** New washer and dryer is available. ********** So you'll have a complete studio/apt-like benefits, with the pleasures of a BnB. ** You'll find a variety of fine teas, fresh ground coffee from our local coffee house. ** Your own private entrance at street level on a quiet street in a deliciously vibrant neighborhood, and ** Free and easy on-street parking. ** Walk out to a quiet street in the heart of Rockridge and Temescal. ** Easy transport is a walk away (Bart, bus, ride-share [free ride to downtown SF during morning commute within 20 minutes!]). ** Also, near UC campus, Whole Foods, Safeway, Trader Joes, and a multitude of shops, restaurants, and cafes. ** Ideal for visiting professors, grad students, visiting parents, business travelers, and others needing privacy. **** (For monthly stays, the room will be cleaned once every two weeks, including clean bedding and towels. Note: Monthly stays are responsible for their provisions after the initial welcome supplies, e.g., food, paper towels, tissues, and kitchen and bathroom needs. Of course, we’re available in case of occasional immediate needs.) ** Two blocks away you'll walk into dozens of delicious cafes and coffee shops, restaurants (five more just opened up in the last month!), 5 pizza varietals -to- vegetarian -to- "Bourbon and Beef" -to- 5-star restaurants, bookstores, library, boutiques, a store for deep-chocolate lovers... Imagine being able to walk to delicious foods and flavors of Mediterranean, Italian, French, Spanish, Mexican, Peruvian, Seafood, American, California comfort, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Middle-Eastern, Vegetarian, Burmese, Vietnamese, Korean, fusion-of-all-sorts, Noodle, Ramen, many casual and complex eateries, fresh-food markets, scrumptious bakeries, sweets shops, amid a cornucopia of boutiques and thrift shops, a farmer's market (Sunday), a dozen happy hours, and much more in the most desirable area in Oakland. Longer review: A studio apartment: A graceful private room, kitchenette, walking closet, tiled bathroom and private entrance. Plush comfy queen-size bed, layered with a rich wool mattress cover, wrapped in soft cotton sheets and covered with cotton and down quilts... and plenty of pillows for a delicious night's sleep. There's a pullout-table for two, by a window overlooking the luscious garden. A half-size-fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker, 2-burner inductive stove top, white granite sink, internet access, and fancy-iPod-plug-in-speakers are included to make your stay easy and comfortable. Neighborhoods: Step outside to a quiet street just 2 blocks east from College Avenue in the heart of Rockridge, and 2 blocks west to telegraph Ave, where you'll find yourself in Temescal with its wide array of ethnic restaurants. A few more blocks to the north and you're in the heart of the Elmwood in Berkeley. Nearby is the famous Telegraph avenue and its colorful street venues right by the UC Campus. Walk 10 minutes east up Claremont Avenue and you'll find the world famous Claremont Hotel and Spa. Just two blocks and you're in the very chic Rockridge neighborhood, soaking in unique shops, dives -to- 5-star restaurants, small cafes, a chocolate lover's store, and some of the best coffee shops anywhere. ...If you have a car, take a 10 minute drive up Claremont to the Berkeley/Oakland hills and see one of the most breathtaking view in the world, of the Bay Area anytime - during sunset and on a clear day you can see past Oakland, Berkeley, the five bridges, the shimmer of the Bay, Angle Island, Alcatraz Island, the glitter of San Francisco, and all the way to the mighty Pacific Ocean. This is a doorway to 123 million acres of park land. Drive back down and you're in the middle of incredibly diverse culture and active life styles. No wonder Oakland got named "The most exciting city in America"! Transportation: By car -- Free and easy on-street parking with very quick access to all the major highways. ... Pubic transport -- Easy transport is a walk away (Bart, bus, ride-share [free ride to downtown SF during morning commute within 20 minutes!]). About a 10 minute walk to Bart gets you to downtown Oakland in 10 minutes; to downtown SF in 25 minutes; free ride-share [~two blocks away] during morning commute hours gets you into downtown SF in 20 minutes (faster than if you were to drive yourself). Privacy, Comfort and Convenience: You'll find privacy, comfort, and convenience here, and if there's anything else you need, we'll graciously do our best to make your stay easy, enjoyable, and accommodating. Noise level: We ask that everyone be respectful of residents of the house, and neighbors. While walls protect us all, they are not sound proof, so especially during the hours of 10:00pm - 8:00am, please keep the sound level to a low respectful level. Thank you. In order to keep the room clean and comfortable, we ask that there is no smoking, no pets, and street-shoes off (new slippers are provided for each guest for your convenience).
