Tranquil room in Hand Built Strawbale House

Welcome to our home! We live in the attic and are excited to share our space with you! Our home is located on the outskirts of Port Townsend approx. 30-40 minutes walk from historic downtown. We live on 3/4 acre with views of Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainer and Port Townsend Bay. We are in the city limits, we feel as though we are out in the country! We are still a work in progress, so you may see some of our unfinished projects. WE HAVE ANOTHER LISTING: SUMPTUOUS ROOM IN STRAWBALE HOUSE. The space PLEASE NOTE: if you need to check-in after 9pm we ask you to please list this in your initial request. We live in the house and often have other guests sleeping in our other Airbnb room. Our family lives in the home as well. We have a 2nd Airbnb room on the same floor. PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE YOUR OWN PRIVATE SHOWER AND SINK ROOM AND WILL BE SHARING THE CENTRAL TOILET ROOM WITH THE GUESTS IN OUR OTHER AIRBNB ROOM. THERE IS A PRIVACY DOOR CONNECTING EACH GUEST BATHROOM. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING THE TOILET ROOM. IF YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN DEDICATED TOILET THEN WE SUGGEST THAT YOU LOOK AT OTHER LISTINGS IN TOWN. Our hand-built strawbale house is located in lovely Port Townsend and is a 5 minute drive or 30-40 minute walk to downtown. Our little corner room is filled with light and views of Mt. Baker and Port Townsend bay as well as the green field below the house. The two-foot thick walls are hand plastered, lending an organic feel to the room as well as creating a warm and quiet space. Enjoy the 100% wool carpet, cotton sheets and natural linen duvet. In order to create a space where you can get away from the trappings of modern life, there is no TV in the room, but feel free to access our wi-fi to watch movies on your laptop using headphones. Our sweet kitty Tibby will most likely come and visit you as well! We are very social people and love to get to know our guests so please feel welcome to enjoy the rest of the house! The bathroom is just a few steps away across the hall from your room and has a separate shared toilet space. As you will see, our house and property is still a work in progress! There are still unfinished aspects to the house and we have yet to accomplish much outside landscaping due, in part, to a lack of deer fencing. Therefore, anything we plant will get eaten at this point! With this being said, our home is very comfortable and functional and we think you will love being here. The room is in the 2nd floor so you will need to be comfortable climbing stairs. Guest access 1. PLEASE NOTE: if you need to check-in after 9pm we ask you to please list this in your initial request. PLEASE NOTE: if you need to check-in after 9pm we ask you to please list this in your initial request. We live in the house and often have other guests sleeping in our other Airbnb room. We may have both of our Airbnb rooms rented at the same time so you may have a chance to meet other travelers. 2. PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE YOUR OWN PRIVATE SHOWER AND SINK ROOM AND WILL BE SHARING THE CENTRAL TOILET ROOM WITH THE GUESTS IN OUR OTHER AIRBNB ROOM. We are a social house and tend to have good friends come and go frequently, so there are times when the house is not quiet. We always enjoy getting to know our guests so please join us for a cup of tea or glass of wine. That being said, please feel free to spend your time in your room without any pressure to engage with us. We are very easy going people and go with whatever flow is happening. The room is very quiet with the door closed, but if you desire an extremely quiet environment, you may want to stay elsewhere. 4. We will endeavor to create a quiet home for you after 10pm and we ask that, if you come home after 10pm, you move about the house quietly out of respect for our other guests. Other things to note 1. PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE YOUR OWN PRIVATE SHOWER AND SINK ROOM AND WILL BE SHARING THE CENTRAL TOILET ROOM WITH THE GUESTS IN OUR OTHER AIRBNB ROOM. IF YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN DEDICATED TOILET THEN WE SUGGEST THAT YOU LOOK AT OTHER LISTINGS IN TOWN. 2. We ask that you refrain from taking food and drink (other than water) up to our guest rooms. We chose to lay down a non-toxic wool carpet but it is prone to staining. 3. Please use the vent fans when showering and leave it running for several minutes afterwards to ensure that we don't encourage mold. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ROOM IS ON THE 2ND FLOOR SO YOU WILL NEED TO BE COMFORTABLE CLIMBING STAIRS.
