Spacious apartment close to two waterfront parks and the shopping/restaurant district. You’ll love it because of the comfy, eclectic feel; the privacy. Before reserving, please review the house rules section and additional rules section of our listing. By reserving our space on Airbnb you will be affirming that you've read them and will comply during your stay. We have child-proofed our space, though guests with children need to walk-through on arrival to make sure we haven't missed anything. Guests can contact us with additional child-proofing needs. Note: we're on a main street, so there is some street noise. And we're one block from the fire department, so as our guest you need to know there's a possibility of the alarm going off in the night (we've been hosts for two years without a night-time fire, but you need to be aware of the possibility). We have a keycode lock, so you are free to check in anytime after 3 pm at your convenience, and to come and go as you like. Access to the apartment is via the side porch. The apartment is on the second floor. The stairs are fairly steep, but there is a handrail. The kitchen comes supplied with a collection of organic herbs and spices and cookware. Use anything you need. There's a pantry with a few additional supplies and ingredients that we're adding to as we find single-serve or tamper-proof sources. We want you to feel at home at our place. We live ten minutes from the apartment and are available by phone or message. We'll message your keycode after we've confirmed that the previous guest has checked out. If you're going to arrive after dark let us know and we'll leave the porch and stairs lights on for you when we do our final readiness check on the apartment. Most of our interaction with guests is by message or phone, though we're always so happy to arrange to stop by and say hello, and we try to resolve questions or additional needs immediately. There's a Scuteri's take-out pizza place (open intermittently according to the season) whose cannoli are legendary among the locals; it's half a block from our place. There's a locally owned Mexican restaurant across the street. This is not a commercial neighborhood. Both restaurants nestle into our residential area and have been neighborhood eateries for a long time. Parking for guests: we have a private driveway that can accommodate two cars one behind the other. On-street parking nearby is also available; it gets pretty crowded during some festivals, but is not a problem most of the year. Nearby Lafayette Park has Lime Bikes for rent through the app. Watkins glen is a compact, walkable village. You need to know that Watkins Glen has updated their regulations for vacation rentals. Please review our Additional Rules for the Local and State laws that will apply to you as our guests. By reserving our place (or any place in Watkins Glen village) you will be agreeing to follow our ordinances. Our permit number is STR-031-19.
