Kidman Cottages

Unalla is a working Black Angus cattle farm established in 1850. Kidman Cottages (recently renovated) overlooks 200 acres of gently undulating gum studded grazing country. The cottages are the perfect place to experience a farm stay, walk the property or Kidman Trail, play tennis or just relax. The picturesque old dairy, with open fire and BBQ is set for dining. We also include a gourmet selection of local breakfast provisions and the greenhouse offers seasonal greens and vegetables. The space Settlers Cottage built in 1850 can accommodate 2 people; there is a queen size bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a lounge with open fire, bar fridge microwave and Nespresso. The perfect romantic getaway. Cosy Cottage built in 1890 can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms (2 queen size beds and 1 double); there is a share bathroom with bath, laundry, lounge, and kitchen with dining including full size fridge, microwave, electric cook top, oven, Nespresso and dishwasher. Both cottages have verandah's with outdoor seating and overlook the cattle property. There are two BBQs one in the courtyard between the two cottages and the other in the old dairy. The dairy has a large open fire and is set for dining. Both cottages have recently been extensively renovated and includes reverse cycle air conditioning, luxury bedding, towels and complimentary bathroom products. Guest access Kidman Cottages are located on a working cattle farm on 200 gently undulating gum studded acres with wooded areas and 5 dams and has direct access to the famous Kidman Trail, which is a 269 kilometre hiking, biking and horse riding trail that runs from Willunga in the south to the Barossa Valley in the north. There are sign posted walks within the 200 acre property which take you pass dams and wooded areas which offer a variety of picnic areas (campfires can be arranged season permitting), the perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful quiet surrounds. Birdlife is abundant with some magnificent old gum trees located throughout the property as well as lawn and shaded areas directly around the cottages. Other things to note Kidman Cottages are approximately 35 minutes from Adelaide, located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills near Mount Barker which is 10 minutes away by car. Adelaide Hills wineries are our neighbours with McLaren Vale and Barossa wineries approximately 45 minutes away travelling through some of the most picturesque towns and villages South Australia has to offer. Visitors can explore some of the delights of the Adelaide Hills: the famous township of Hahndorf, nearby cafes, bakeries, wineries, distilleries and some of the best restaurants and pubs South Australia has to offer. The farm is far enough away from the cities to offer typical quiet country life and starry nights.
