Quiet room in Bethesda near metro/NIH

Large room in shared 4-bedroom apt on a leafy, quiet street in Chevy Chase. Unit has wood floors, steam heat, and modern eco-friendly vibe (we compost & recycle, avoid fragrances and bleach, etc). We strive for openness and sharing, while also respecting each other's privacy. Coin laundry. Short walk to Bethesda metro, Trader Joes, coffee shops, bike trail. Easy commute to AU or NIH. Grad students or working professionals preferred. Long-term stays (>=30days) only The space Although this is a basement apartment, don't be deterred! It was formally the maids quarters and is very large. We keep it clean and windows open all year round. I am sensitive to dust mites, so there are no carpets; all mattresses are sealed; and all bedrooms have fans. Guest access My share of the apartment includes access to a private study, with desk, yoga mat, meditation cushion, window facing east. Depending on when and how long you stay, you are welcome to use this space as well. And please feel free to use the kitchen! The other two residents rarely, if ever use it, so it's mostly yours. The only downside: no dishwasher. During your stay I will do my best to be here to welcome you. The other two residents are rarely around. Other things to note This is a rather old red brick garden style apartment building. Cozy and pretty, but guests should understand it's not a condo with modern amenities. We have Internet and WiFi, but no AC or TV. There's a fitness gym right across the street, numerous yoga studios nearby, and a bike trail about five minutes away that goes all the way into DC. The laundry facilities in the building (four washers, four dryers) are coin-operated. I provide laundry detergent, laundry booster for stains, fabric softener, etc. but guests are responsible for covering the cost of their laundry. Wash is generally about $2.75 and dryer $2.50.
