Seaside Cozy Cabin with Ocean View

This small oceanfront cabin sits in a quiet, peaceful cove within walking distance to L’anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the vikings landed 1000 years ago. Wake up to the sound of ocean waves lapping against the shore. Watch icebergs, whales, and sunsets while curled up by the wood stove. Hike up to the top of the headlands and experience the peaceful energy of this wild and rugged place. You’ll feel like you’re at the edge of the world. The space This little yellow cabin was converted from a fishing store (a "store" is where a fisherman stores their nets and other gear) and has gorgeous views of the ocean from nearly every room. You can watch icebergs and whales from the windows or take in stunning sunsets from the couch. The viking site is a 20 minute walk away (or a 1 minute drive) and there are several hiking trails you can get to right from the cabin. Go down to the beach at low-tide and stand in awe of the powerful North Atlantic (and see if you can spot the colourful starfish hiding in the rocks). Close by are award-winning restaurants, gift shops, and cafés, as well as iceberg and whale watching tours. Get screeched in at the local pub up the road, or experience jannying (AKA mummering) first-hand while eating fresh cod straight out of the sea. After a day of adventuring, when the sun goes down, the wood stove beckons. Fall asleep to the sea breeze and the lull of crashing waves. PLEASE NOTE: Due to our remote location, there is no cell reception in the cove, but if you need to make calls, you are welcome to use the landline in our house. Guest access This cabin is a private rental that you'll have entirely to yourself, including the kitchen, which is stocked with everything you need to make your meals (except for the food itself). Other things to note PLEASE NOTE: the internet in our cove is spotty, so please don't count on it being reliable. The cabin is fully stocked with books, dvds, and board games if you find yourself bored on a rainy day, so please help yourself to them all.
