We are in the heart of downtown Peekskill. You can walk everywhere, so no car is needed! You have free street parking, cool amenities, & epic views of the mountains & city skyline. Just 1 train, 1 boat, or 1 Hr drive from NYC. The house is bright, colorfully decorated, filled with sunlight, & an artistic minimalistic style. Between your room, the comfiness of the house, your chill hosts, our local tips, & Peekskill's constant events, you have everything you need to enjoy your downtown Peekskill. The space The house is located in downtown Peekskill, so a car is not necessary. The easiest way to get here is to hop on the Metro-North train from NYC at either Grand Central or Harlem. It is 1 train, 5 stops, and 1 hour. As the house is downtown, you can enjoy the bars, restaurants, local events, festivals, theater, live music, and comedy shows by walking for 3-10 mins. The entire house is keyless, so it is impossible to get locked out or lose your keys ;-). Your room has a queen-sized bed and a dedicated guest-only shared bathroom. This bathroom is exclusively for guests and is shared only with other guests. In your room, you'll find a mini-fridge, a large standing mirror, a coffee machine, a luggage rack, charging cables for most phones, bathrobes, umbrellas, disposable slippers, a workstation, a free-standing closet, and a queen-sized bed with luxurious satin sheets. The house is shoe-free with a mudroom dedicated solely for outdoor shoes. If you have a favorite pair of indoor slippers, please feel free to bring them, as I want all my guests to feel right at home. There is a shoeroom where all guests are expected. Depending on when you are coming, it is possible to reserve a private bathroom for $75 for the weekend or $150 for the week. However, this would need to be arranged at the time of booking. Beyond your room, you have access to common areas, like the bathroom, dining area, and living room. If you need a table to work from, I would recommend using the dining area, as the table is long enough to seat 14 people comfortably, and the space is filled with sun and an amazing view of the mountains and city skyline. In general, I am a laid-back host with little to no rules, beyond basic common-sense stuff that you wouldn't do as a guest in someone's home. Though you might not see me much during your stay, I will find some time to say goodbye in the morning before you check-out and I am always happy to socialize when I am free! Happy to make recommendations for anything from food to activities, just ask. All I ask in return is that you respect my home, keep it clean, and be kind to other guests. For check-in, I greet all my guests at the house, as it gives me a chance to make sure you feel right at home, explain how the locks work, and make recommendations for your stay (if needed). Once you are checked in, if you need me, ping me on the app. Check-in is between 3 pm and 8 pm. Check-out is at 10 am. Most of the time, I can accommodate a late or overnight check-in, but that would need to be agreed upon at the time of your reservation. Either way, I ask all guest to let me know their Eta 48 hours in advance. If you end up running late on the date you are arriving, don't worry and just ping me with an updated ETA. To get to Peekskill, you have tons of options. You can take a cruise from Manhattan down the Hudson ( I know, very cool). You can take the train from Manhattan. It is one train, a few stops, and about an hour. From the Peekskill Train Station, you can walk 15-20 minutes to the house, Uber, or message me for a pick-up (it's $10). You can also take the train to Croton-Harmon and Uber to the house. If you are coming from the airport, you can Uber (it is between $50-150 depending on the airport and time of day). If you ask in advance, sometimes I can do airport or Manhattan pickup or drop off for the same price as Uber. Pick-ups and drop-offs are not services; it is just something I am happy to do when I have the time. I recommend taking the train from Grand Central or Harlem.
