Enjoy a beautifully unique glamping experience in Greenditch, one of our two luxuriously appointed, off grid pods at Hideaway Horton. Located next to the secluded private lake on our working family farm on the Cotswold escarpment, Greenditch is nestled into the bank at the edge of the woods, facing south across the water with unspoilt rural views. Embrace all that nature has to offer outside & then retreat into the pod where a sumptuous bed, en-suite bathroom & all creature comforts await you. The space Take time out to take nature in. Greenditch pod is tucked away in a sheltered corner of our lake...watch wildlife, listen to birdsong and ponder star-lit skies from the verandah or your private Scandinavian wood-fired spring fed hot tub. The cosy interior combines rustic and luxury contemporary living, offering a calming, magical self catering experience… a handmade English pocket sprung natural mattress, cotton bed linen, goose down duvet and pillows and organic toiletries. Facilities include a fully plumbed in en-suite with hot shower and heated towel rail, kitchenette with Belfast sink and fridge, sofa, small wardrobe and chest of drawers. We provide complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee pods, sugar and milk along with a selection of condiments. There is an assortment of utensils, crockery and pans with everything you need for cooking and dining. Choose to cook on the fire pit with grill pan or on the gourmet Weber gas BBQ and hob on which a variety of meals can be created. We provide a full store of logs, all sourced from fallen trees on the farm, which will last two nights. If you need any more, we charge £20. A delicious breakfast hamper can be ordered prior to arrival for an additional charge of £50. This includes enough for 2 mornings - eggs from our own hens, bacon, granola, yoghurt, pastries, bread, fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. Produce is locally sourced as much as possible. More energetic guests can take advantage of stunning rural walks with direct access onto the Cotswold Way National trail which crosses the farm. The local footpaths offer magnificent views from the Cotswold Edge escarpment and meander through ancient sites and beautiful villages. Access to Greenditch is along the Cotswold Way - guests walk approximately 500m from the car parking area at the farm. The path is across fields and has a fairly steep decline so we recommend appropriate footwear… it’s all part of the adventure! We are happy to bring bags down on the quad bike. Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy the Avon Cycleway which runs past the farm. There are plenty of other beautiful places to visit in the area including Westonbirt Arboretum, historic Tetbury, Castle Combe and the elegant city of Bath…that’s if you want to leave this quiet idyllic spot! If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of life, want a romantic retreat, need to recharge or just like to relax in nature, Greenditch is the place for you! Greenditch is very secluded...the only other people you may occasionally see are those staying in our other pod Upper Hen, approximately 90m away and naturally screened from each other. Please note no children under 18 nor pets and unfortunately, due to the rural location, it is unsuitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues. Guest access Guests are more than welcome to enjoy the surroundings of the lake area but we ask that you do not wander around the farmyard/stables. Other things to note The market town of Chipping Sodbury is 2.5 miles away with a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. You can drive to the town or it’s a lovely walk along the local footpaths. Our other luxury pod Upper Hen is located in another corner of the lake (approximately 90m away) and is on Airbnb listing if you have friends to bring too!
