Small Room in the Old Fort Lodge

The Fort's Small Room is perfect for a couple or an individual who is looking to get away for a wilderness adventure in the forested mountains of Western North Carolina. It has a dining area with 2 chairs, a small table, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and dishes/flatware. The bedroom has a chest of drawers along with a double bed, comforter, linens and pillows. Your bath is small but provides the necessities and a shower stall along with your towels. The space Arrowmont is great for people who enjoy getting away from civilization for some peace and quiet, not to mention enjoying the beauty of God's creation, in these southern Appalanchian mountains at 4000 feet elevation. We are about 30 minutes from town up a twisty mountain road. You will definitely find out what a "country mile" is all about. Once on the farm, there is a mile and half long bumpy gravel road that serves all the buildings and cabins. _____Linens and towels are provided for the bedrooms and bath. _____The kitchen comes equipped with dishes, flatware, pots/pans, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, stove and refrigerator. _____The cabin is on the side of a mountain. _____There is a porches on the front which has a BBQ grill (charcoal) and rocking chairs. _____All you need to bring are your clothes and food. Plus, there is a great restaurant only 15 minutes away and hundreds in the surrounding communities of Cashiers, Highlands, Sylva and Franklin. Plan 20 to 45 minutes to drive to them. Being in the mountains, please do not expect to have cell service. It's sporadic at best. If you do find a signal, please pull over and stop while you have it. Otherwise, granite has a way of cutting off that signal. From your cabin, You may enjoy watching the horses meander by your front door on their way to "work" from their pasture on the far side of the farm. The sheep seem to think they are part of the herd and follow the horses wherever they wander on the premises. You also can experience the joy of horseback riding right on the farm. There are 5 majestic trails to choose from. You get a 15% discount on whatever trail you choose.
