Private Apartment w/Sunny Balcony in Riverdale NYC

Lovely, cozy, clean, huge studio apartment with separate eat-in kitchen, a large sunny balcony (all to yourself), w/backyard access, in private 3-family house, in beautiful neighborhood of Riverdale, Bronx, New York City. Stay in a quiet, safe, green neighborhood with plenty of street parking, and a quick commute into Manhattan. Enjoy dinner al fresco on your own private balcony, or hang in our wooded backyard. The space The House Our place is a 1930's 3-family brick and stone house on a small hill, with terraced gardens, in the Fieldston neighborhood of North Riverdale, NYC. Your Apartment Your apartment has a large, cozy bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed, cozy full-size sofa-bed and arm chair, TV w/chrome-cast, dresser, barn door closet, bookshelf, and an office nook with a large mahogany desk and office chair. Down the hall is a separate sunny, kitchen with all the basic supplies, and a dining table set. There is a full stove/oven, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and basic cooking supplies, as well as complimentary coffee, cream and some starters for you to enjoy. Out the kitchen door is a large, private balcony with a retractable awning and a patio dining set, great for sunbathing, reading/chilling/working, dining al fresco, and just enjoying and people watching! There's also a full bathroom with a stand-up shower (with great water pressure). We have recently made a few improvements to the apartment that are not yet reflected in the photos. You have access through a new, private stairway to our terraced, wooded backyard (shared with our family). There, we have an enclosed veggie garden - pick your own tomatoes, basil, mint, etc. when in season. We also have a large BBQ (dual gas and charcoal), a garden, a dining patio, a picnic area, space for kids to run around, and plenty of sunny and shaded seating. It's a piece of countryside right in the city. The three other apartments in our house are occupied by permanent tenants (including our family). This AirBnB apartment is on the second floor (walk-up) and has its own private entrance. As the house is on a hill, half of the apartment is actually underground (the bedroom/common area), which gives it a cozy and quiet feel. The eat-in kitchenette and balcony are sunny and above ground. The large, sunny balcony is on the second floor of the house, overlooking the tree-lined street. (This apartment is all on one single floor.) We are doing what we can to protect our planet. We recently installed solar panels on the roof, which produce 100% of the electrical consumption for our whole house. We also compost all of our organic waste, through a NYC composting initiative and also in our backyard. If you would like to compost during your stay, please let us know and we will set you up with with supplies and instructions. Other things to note We also speak Spanish Hablamos español. We are a multi-racial, bi-cultural, queer family with a child, and we love meeting new people from all backgrounds and experiences. The house is super close to Riverdale Country School, Fieldston School, Horace Mann School, Manhattan College and Mt St Vincent's College. We are walking distance to all of them, and there are plenty of good, local taxi services for those with restricted movement.
