Located 10 minutes from the town of Florissant, CO, my home is located on 5 acres with stunning views of Pike's Peak and other neighboring mountain ranges. The rental is remodeled and is the whole first floor of the house. You have your own entrance, so you can enjoy your privacy. Your host is a park ranger and earth science educator and can offer you local recommendations to make the most out of your time in the Rocky Mountains! I live on the second floor of this home. The space True Rocky Mountain living meets modern comfort with views, an indoor woodstove, and mountain décor. This is a great space to get away, but still be able to access Gold Medal fishing, skiing, mine tours, parks, river tubing, hot springs, breweries, and other amazing mountain activities. This property is pet friendly, and we have a fenced dog yard that is accessible right next to the rental, and you dog can be safely fenced when using the upstairs patio. There is a lot of space for uncovered parking (4 cars can easily fit). This rental includes a kitchenette but not a full kitchen. For cooking, there is a outdoor grill, microwave, toaster oven, electric induction burner, and a wood fired stove (that guests are welcome to cook on top of). There is no washer/ dryer unit included in this rental, so guests will need to use a laundromat for laundry. There is a fire pit and a greenhouse that you are welcome to use. The greenhouse is productive from mid may through October, and there are plenty of fresh herbs, lettuce, spinach, and other produce for sharing. There is also a horseshoe pit and a cornhole set for guests. One of the bedrooms has a desk, desk chair, and tv (with chromecast). This booking is not appropriate for late night partying, and we do ask guests to respect quiet hours after 10pm. We need to respect our neighbors (and myself who lives upstairs), so this is not a good fit for groups that plan to be excessively noisy including highly vocal dogs, blasting music, or large groups of children. This booking is also not appropriate for pets that are aggressive, bark excessively, or are unattended for long periods. You will need a verified ID to instant book this listing. The internet is Starlink, which is high speed satellite internet. I upgraded to Starlink when I was working from home during the pandemic and have been really happy with it as it allows for fast uploads and downloads for my work. I have an online activity guide, and a binder with local recs in the rental. There is an internal stairway to connect the floors, but is is walled off and has a locked door. You will have access to the first floor of the home (3 bed, 2 full bath), and the outdoor areas of this property. The beds are two queens and a twin. I do have a kayak and a paddleboard that I can lend you (need to sign waiver). There are board games, puzzles, and a hammock in the hallway closet. There are reading books in the bedrooms. I try to keep various toiletries stocked in the bathroom in case you forgot something. I am available to provide information about hiking and other local gems! There is an extensive guest binder in the rental that I have created, and this has most of the local information you will need for your visit. Other things to note I have a dog and two cats that live with me upstairs. These animals do not access the rental, but I mention it because you may encounter them in outdoor spaces. I am comfortable hosting 2 dogs. Please do not plan to leave dogs in the outdoor pet enclosure if you are leaving for the day. They should either be taken with you, kenneled, or well behaved pets can be free in the apartment. I have hosted cats and birds, so reach out to tell me more about your pet if you are bringing something other than a dog. If you are traveling with more than 2 dogs, and know the dogs are well behaved, small, pretty mellow, you can reach out with a description and check if I think it would work. The house is heated by propane, and there's a space heater in the rental if needed. We do not have air conditioning because it is VERY rarely needed living at 8,600 ft in the Colorado Rockies. There are box fans, and nighttime temperatures are always in the 50s or lower.
