Description

Historic, tree-lined, Capitol Hill street. *Perfect quiet neighborhood location* - just blocks from the Capitol/National Mall and Eastern Market; walk to baseball and soccer stadiums; close to Wharf/Anthem. Five min walk (0.3 miles) to blue/orange/silver metro; 10 min walk (0.5 miles) to green line metro. Outdoor seating area on property. Parks/resturants/Whole Foods one block away. Fully stocked kitchen, marble-tiled shower, washer/dryer, living and dining space. Central air/heat. The space Our neighborhood is truly special - we have lived here for nearly 15 years and love being on a quiet, tree-lined, brick-sidewalked street just blocks from everything. The space is a spacious English basement studio apartment. The main room has a front door and two windows to let in natural light, a large flat-screen TV, couch, coffee table, chair, and bookshelves. The queen bed is in the main room as well. There are hardwood floors in the main room and hallway and a marble-tiled bathroom with a large showerhead. We have a fully-stocked kitchen with a granite countertop, a full-size refrigerator, dining area (through a beautiful archway) with a table and chairs, plentiful closet space, and a washer/dryer. We supply coffee and tea, as well as a variety of complimentary beverages. The apartment is on the basement level with its own private entrance and lockbox check in/out. Trader Joe's is five blocks away, and Whole Foods is one block (a four-minute walk) from the apartment. Our street is one of the most coveted in DC, and has been featured several times on the Capitol Hill Restoration Society's historic homes tour. Available for your use: hair dryer, first-aid kit, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, reusable shopping bags, umbrellas, apron, clothes hangers. All linens and towels provided. We highly recommend not bringing a car - it's very easy to get around via Metro, rideshares, taxis, or walking. Parking is first-come, first-serve on the street, but is limited to two hours at a time. You can park overnight (from 7:30pm-7:30am) for free. There are paid on-street parking options on surrounding blocks, and a garage two blocks away. Please let us know if you need more information on parking. Information on things to do and our favorite places to eat included in the apartment, along with Washington DC guidebooks. We have high-speed internet and a table that expands into a larger work surface if needed. Contactless check in/out. Guest access You'll have the entire apartment to yourself, and access to an outdoor seating area (bench, table, and chairs) to enjoy as well. Contactless check in/out through lock box. Other things to note Amazing coffee shops, shopping (including groceries - Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, and Whole Foods), bars, and Michelin-starred restaurants are all within walking distance. We're a 15 minute walk from the redeveloped riverfront at Yards Park (where you can go kayaking or bike/run the river trail) and a 10-15 minute walk to Barrack's Row/Eastern Market (with wonderful restaurants and shops). The Library of Congress is two blocks away, and you can be standing on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in 15 minutes. We are close to multiple bikeshare stations, and it's an easy ride to the Nationals baseball stadium and the DC United soccer stadium. The Wharf (with The Anthem, a world-class music venue) is a short bike/cab ride away. You'll have an amazing stay with close, walkable access to all of Washington, DC has to offer. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of pots/pans/dishes/utensils if you'd like to cook. We have ample glassware, as well as a cocktail shaker and large, square ice cubes for evening happy hour. We try to think of the small details that will make your stay more comfortable - extra blankets and pillows, emergency toiletries, umbrellas, reusable shopping bags, snacks, etc. We hope you'll make yourself at home!
