Valley View Cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains

This is a 1980s cottage on the hill overlooking the Graves Mountain Farm and Lodges, surrounded by trees and the rising mountain above - Double Top. High Speed Wifi available in Valley View Cottage and at the Main Lodge and Satellite TV. Charcoal grill, Fire Circle, rockers on small front porch. No pets allowed. The space Valley View has only a front porch, looking up the mountain, not a back porch looking over the valley. The interior is waxed natural wood paneling, cut and planed on the farm. Ground floor - large open plan living, kitchen and dining, sofa, easy chairs, day bed and fireplace. Sleeping up to 4 in 2 bedrooms that are down one flight of stairs, 1 queen and two twin beds. One bath with shower-tub combination, Just down the slope is the Graves Mountain Main Lodge, where there is a three meal a day family style restaurant with traditional Southern Style cooking. Trails start from nearby on the hill-side. Activities: Hiking- on our farm and mountains, Shenandoah Park is 7 miles - to Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon Trails Hiking- Naturalist guide is available at good notice. Fishing - Rose and Robinson Rivers are in the immediate area. Rapidan is a short drive. Fishing Guide and Fly Fishing coaches are available at notice Horseback Riding - we have a stable on the farm, or bring your own. Playing in the stream just down the way - Rose River Pool - Olympic size pool by main lodge, open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Vineyard tour - 4 vineyards within 15 miles. Historic House tour - Monticello (Jefferson) and Montpelier (Madison), Dining - at our Main Lodge three meals daily - southern family style. Snacks and sundries and sandwiches at Syria Mercantile - our general goods and post office store Brew pubs - one in Madison (13 miles) and four in Culpeper (22 miles) Antiquing - all over Charlottesville and UVA - 38 miles Guest access The entire cabin and grounds. They are all yours. Plus you have our 1100 acres, our Main Lodge, restaurant and seasonal swimming pool, stables, and fishing on another stocked river. Other things to note Please note that cell service is not available in our rural area. Valley View Cottage has high speed internet that also allows for wifi calling.
