Chic Apartment in East Harlem
Chic Apartment in East Harlem
Description
Beautiful Harlem Apartment. My lovely home, with just me & my cat Phred, (no other guests will be present) has a recently renovated bath & kitchen. With windows facing 3 directions, its a charming, sunny space, with eastern, western, and southern exposures. Your cozy, private 100 sq. ft. bedroom has wall to wall glass, with sweeping neighborhood views. The space Your bedroom is cozy and well appointed. Amenities include WiFi, AC, ceiling fan, ample closet space, convertible bed, desk, small dresser, 2 chairs & privacy. Fresh flowers, of course. Subway maps, and books on the city are in your desk area and the living room library. The decor is colorful and eclectic, in keeping with the Barrio locale. The view out your bedroom window of the tree lined streets, and of our bright & busy corner, with the energy of the Barrio's restaurants and bars, is quite engaging. Spanish Harlem is safe, friendly and exciting. And the well lighted streets are busy, even at night. This includes deli and bodega shops open 24 hours. Welcome to the city that never sleeps. Every amenity you'll need is in walking distance. From convenient little bodegas, to a choice of supermarkets, scores of eateries and charming little bars, 24 hour laundromats and even a shopping mall, all just steps away, you'll quickly feel at home here. And the bus stops right at my door. The #6 subway is only 3 blocks away, and whisks you to the Metropolitan Museum, Times Square, Chelsea, the Village, and all the way down to the Staten Island Ferry for a free boat ride past the Statue of Liberty. 24 hours a day! Guest access You will be welcome to make yourself at home throughout the apartment. (Except my bedroom, of course.) The cozy, comfortable living room is a nice place to relax and read a book, (feel free to peruse my library) answer emails, examine the art collection, or enjoy a meal at the counter. My little kitchen has everything you'll require, from a microwave for take-out from the Chinese restaurant downstairs, to a ricer for the boiled potatoes needed in cooking salmon croquettes on the gas range. Juice fresh oranges in the morning, if you like. And make coffee, of course. The beautiful little bathroom includes everything you'll need for a quick shower and shave. Or, open the window and enjoy the breeze as you indulge in a relaxing bubble-bath and a careful makeup and hair ritual, facilitated with an adjustable spotlight for those small details. You've been provided a hair drier, of course. And a hand mirror can be found in the linen closet. Other things to note New York has been an artist's mecca for many years. And when you visit my home, you'll be surrounded by art. Many of the drawings, paintings and photographs were done by local artists, most of whom are friends and acquaintances of mine. There are also a handful of pieces by your host on display. I hope you'll like my little collection, and you are invited to inquire about anything you wish. The decor also features a smattering of authentic Bauhaus and Mid-Century Modern furniture you might enjoy.
