Description

FEATURED IN DWELL and SCHOOLHOUSE ELECTRIC. A gorgeous farm-setting just 15-minutes from downtown Portland; located on stunning Sauvie Island - a large river island and wildlife refuge - we are an organically-minded small farm and creative space. We love all the flora and fauna, and take great joy in wild spaces. A biking, birding, and aesthetic retreat from everyday life, we hope that each guest leaves feeling relaxed and inspired. The guest suite is modern, bright, and comfortable. The space We have a gorgeous 300 square-foot guest suite (adjacent to our main house where we live) called "Tu Casa". It is located on our 7-acre+ farm on Sauvie Island - 10 miles from Downtown Portland, Oregon. Tu Casa is modern and bright and private, bursting with clean lines, lots of natural light, and a serene setting. You will have your own private bathroom, queen bed, small kitchenette for making cups of tea/coffee and light food prep, and lounge area with table workstation. There is also a covered patio with table and chairs just outside your french doors for your use alone. You can expect gorgeous views from every window and space on the property: an unreal view of St. Helens and the whole Cascade Range on a clear day and the surrounding orchards, vineyards, migrating birds, and farm animals everyday (we operate a sheep and alpaca fiber farm and both herds are right outside your windows). The sheep are known to linger right outside Tu Casa, making for a wonderfully sweet experience. Please do keep in mind that we have a dog and three full-of-joy children, so some noise is common off and on between 8am-7pm, especially. There is also a rooster you can hear in the distance in the early mornings. If you are seeking true silence, our space is likely not a great fit. Guest access If you don't plan on eating out for meals, you can bring your own food, but the food in Portland is amazing and inexpensive. We will leave a list of our favorite spots around town with a bunch of maps for your use. See our Guide available via Airbnb. Our small environmentally-conscious and modern farm (The Croft) is a dream come true and we are excited to share it with you (and around harvest, some yummy produce, too) during your stay! You will love it here, I promise. It is the perfect place to write, relax, read, take photos, celebrate, and/or get away and recharge for a bit. Though all that the amazing city of Portland has to offer is just minutes away, including tons of locally-owned: artisan shops, coffee spots, breweries, and food trucks. Other things to note Please bring your bikes: they can be kept in our barn for dry and safe keeping. We are still working on getting bikes for guests to use. We are hands off hosts: We are happy to make recommendations for dinner spots or hiking trails - or share a beer on the deck when the moment arises, but we are a working farm and parents to three chuldren/toddlers, so we are often quite occupied. We have a pack n' play available if you need it, though we are not baby-proofed. Please request ahead of time.
