Welcome to a comfortable and rejuvenating sanctuary one block from Main Street in downtown Grass Valley. You have the whole main house. This includes 3 bedrooms, a spacious living room with fire place, dining room with large family table, fully stocked kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, laundry, and shared hot tub. From the house easily stroll around downtown Grass Valley to enjoy unique restaurants, shops, and shows. Come home to your private, freshly updated, 150 year old historic home. The space My ancestors have lived in Grass Valley since the the 1850s, and I am honored to share this unique historical home with you today. This is a comfortable and accommodating house. It is clean and spacious, with many thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable. You will have the whole house to yourself, with hardwood floors, local art, south facing windows, blackout curtains, and new appliances. Relax on the couches in the living room, where you can enjoy the smart TV, gas fireplace, large windows, fast wifi, and cute work desk. It's a lovely place to connect with friends and family, get some work done, or just relax. There are four window AC units around the house, plus fans, to keep cool in the summer. The stately Main Bedroom has a King Bed, and a large private bathroom with a soaking tub and shower. In the classic Victorian window nook, there is a sweet sitting area with two velvet chairs and a table. Have plenty of space for your garments and suitcases in the walk in closet, with full length mirror. Easily rest and sleep-in if you choose, with room darkening curtains. The cozy second bedroom offers a Queen bed, dresser, mirror, and space to hang your garmets. There are french doors and a colorful stained glass window, all with blackout curtains. The third bedroom is up the stairs, loft-style, with two Twin beds and comfy comforters. There is a dresser, mirror and colorful elephant artwork. The charming and updated kitchen, with inlaid hardwood floors, is fully equipped with everything you need to cook a meal or prepare snacks for an outing. There's new granite countertops, a farmhouse sink, dishwasher, gas range and oven, microwave, toaster oven, blender, full size refrigerator, One Pot, filtered water pitcher, and a freezer with an ice maker. Enjoy the complimentary selection of tea- both herbal and caffeinated. There is freshly ground coffee with a traditional coffee maker, as well as Keurig cups, with a variety of organic coffees to choose from. There are all the tools you need to cook a full meal including pots, pans, utensils, dishes, cups, a can opener, cork screw, and serving platters. There is tupperware, aluminum foil, cling wrap, and plastic sandwich baggies to pack-up leftovers and prepare food for your adventures. Enjoy an assortment of basic spices, as well as olive oil and vinegar. Through an arched walkway from the living room, you enter a classy dining room, with a buffet bar and large dining table, that has plenty of space for the whole family to dine. The front porch is yours for gazing to the tree tops beyond, and experiencing the quintessential comings and goings of downtown Grass Valley. There are two chairs and a table, as well as a rocking chair. You are welcome to enjoy the Hot Tub, deck with outdoor dining table, and outdoor shower. This space is shared with the Carriage House in the back. You can access the deck from the glass door in the dining room, which leads to the mud room where you can find hot tub towels. Please have a rinsing shower in the hot and cold outdoor shower before entering the hot tub, to help keep it as clean as possible for you and other guests. There is a table and chairs for dining and relaxing, as well as a shade umbrella. Bathing suits are not required, but are recommended based on your preference, due to the proximity of neighbors and being a shared space. Open the hot tub cover to use it- And please close the cover when you are done to maintain the heat. The temperature can be set up or down with the buttons. And Jets! This home is on the ancestral lands of the Nisenan Tribe, who still live in the area today. Accessibility: Two steps are required to enter the house on the side of the deck, and 6 steps with railings up the main front stairs. The whole house is one the main level, with the exception of the loft bedroom upstairs. Guest access Guests have private access to the main house, private laundry room, front porch, side parking and front yard. There is shared access to the Hotub, side deck, and outdoor shower. Other things to note Feel free to use the laundry room, there is a brand new washer and dryer. The laundry room also has an iron and ironing board, extra towels and sheets, as well as a drawer with extra toiletries should you need something. There are colored makeup towels and make-up wipes in each bathroom, please use these for cleaning your makeup rather than the white towels.
